My favorite ODU logo is hands-down the "Chef-hat" logo, but I always hated them on our uniforms. I'm so glad they decided to remove the crown and just go with "ODU". The crown made the area look too square and now with our letters, we can have a bigger logo and have our initials out there for more to see, kinda like the uniforms VCU has been using recently. The logo letters are also much better than block "ODU", I can't wait to see them in action

I prefer "OLD DOMINION" in full on the front of the jersey.

I would have preferred this too, but these are pretty sweet. I hate the chefs hat so anytime that is gone is good by me.

The problem with block ODU is that it can very easily be misread as OOU or DDU, since the O and D are so similar. I personally despised those unis as it was just us copying what VCU was doing at the time.

Example:

"OLD DOMINION" is definitely my favorite.

That enlarged font is the ticket. No worries about clarity. Not sure what is going on with the collar accent but it is minor.

Love it! The only thing I'd change is either make the logo a little smaller or the number a little bigger, but then again I'm nit picking. I can't wait to see the home whites!

Thoughts on this years' uniform:

Likes:
- Although I like the 'chefs hat' logo, for this application the monogram logo is much much better. Easy to read, very noticeable. LOVE the light blue trim on it. I also just like the font that ODU uses for that logo.
- Really like the design for the pants. The shield logo is one of my favorites, and I'm glad we actually have it somewhat noticeable on our uniform (in years past it's been a tiny tiny tiny logo on the pants or something). I also like the design of the accent lines. They're somewhat similar to last year but are a lot more pronounced and will look good on TV I think.
- NAVY/SILVER/CERULEAN Thank god at least basketball is utilizing all of our colors, and I think they look really good together.

Nitpicks:
- Preferred the collar accents last year. Wish the ones this year incorporated a bit more light blue.
- I would make the numbers a bit bigger, along with the light blue outline.
- Add more light blue to the side stripes.

Ax to grind:
- Wish the home unis were silver/grey and not white.

When it comes to the Navy/Silver/Cerulean color combo, I think Navy and Silver should be the 2 main colors, but adding enough light blue in there really makes it pop!

Overall, an upgrade from last years uni's.

I agree with your Nitpick section. I liked how the colors added and extra trim on both the home and away unis. I also agree with the trim, the last few years we've done a good job using he light blue on the stripes. I already made a comment on the front number size before haha but I agree with that point as well.

For your ax, didn't we try that one year (the forgettable 5-25 year nonetheless)? It would be cool to have it as a a third option as I think our color combination makes our home whites look great and those are probably my favorite uniforms, but it would be cool to have a "gray-out" or "silver-out" game every now and again.

To your last comment, I'm all for it. Last year I think we did a fantastic job incorporating navy, cerulean, white, and silver into our home and away sets without making it look too crowded or busy.

So I just zoomed in on the picture where Fields' back is turned to us and it almost looks like the outer trim of the side stripes are light blue but I can't really tell. Maybe its just the pixels meshing the white and navy together
