It's easy to sometimes forget that public figures are real people with real lives outside what we know them for. My condolences to Coach Tuberville and his family.

As someone who recently lost a parent with Alzheimers, I feel for Coach T... It is tough watching those that took such great care of us and who were giants in our lives change so drastically.

I'm sure his mother's disease was progressively getting worse especially at the beginning of this season. We all balance the same situations in our lives with our own work and it weighs heavily on each of us as well. Even more so, I imagine, with a high-profile job like this that requires being away from loved ones.

I watched the ESPN broadcast of the Houston game last night and the announcers indicated that Tubs had flown in to see his mother last Wednesday.

Having gone through the same process with my grandmother and the mother of my current girlfriend, I can't even imagine what it must've been like being away from her with coaching. I'll definitely have Coach in my thoughts.

A horrible disease that many of us have witnessed firsthand with family members. God bless Tommy and his entire family at this difficult time.

Cruel way to die. A little every day. My wife's mother went that way. Painful to watch.

I've lost two uncles and an aunt to Alzheimer's, and Mom is following their footsteps. It sucks.

I really like the comments that started this thread, that sometimes we forget these people are real. It's easy to spout off from behind a keyboard and forget these people are more than just coaches.

Tuberville is just as human as the rest of us.

You only have one mom. Losing her is a big deal.

You know, I've been repeatedly told to write Bohn or write the administration whenever I have an observation or a gripe. Well...instead of offering condolences on a thread which Tuberville probably isn't reading, maybe this is the time to send condolences directly to him.

May God bless her soul. My wife's grandmother has a similar situation, and it is not an easy situation. RIP.
