Don't get this statement by Wilder. Why not just say Bentley is QB3?
"At this point, the staff has decided that Blake is the next quarterback in the game," Wilder said. "We would still play Shuler, but Blake is No. 2 right now."
Wow. I have no words. BW has egg on his face for this one after hyping Bentley up so much. The highest rated recruit we have had, taken to media day as a frosh, started half of last season. Something seems odd. I thought Bentley looked a bit better than last season in the little time he has played and LaRussa hasn't shown me he is the future. Drayton Arnold better be awesome. The schedule gets very tough starting next season, and BW built it thinking Bentley would be a three year starter and a star by that point. Instead we will be facing all these ACC teams with a freshman. Yikes.
That said, Congrats to Blake. Hope he is truly an overlooked gem of a QB.

Blake is an excellent QB with great pocket presence, mobile, and accurate. Apparently he is also very smart. The question was always whether he could translate that to the physicality and speed of FBS.
I thought that BL looked better than all QBs at the Spring game last year. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get to the Spring game or any practices this year,

"They" would include the media too. I remember watching him play in some type of high school all-star game on ESPN and the announcers drooling over him and saying he should be going to a bigger school instead of ODU.
What is the possibility he will transfer to an FCS or D-2 program?

I could see him staying until the spring to try and fight for the starting gig. And then transferring if he didn't get it. That seems to be the norm these days.

The most recent thing I could find is CUSA is 135-25 vs. FCS teams. Most, if not all CUSA teams are significant better than any FCS teams. Hell, even Charlotte beats FCS teams.
The failiure to capitalize on the TH offense and get a D1 QB is astounding. I know SB was a good recruit and we are liable to have busts, but we have recruited nobody better than David Washington over the last 6 years? Hell, go to North Dakota and sell the beach. NDSU's 3rd stringer is probably better than anyone on our roster or recruiting pipeline. Gotta think we'd be able to get someone like that.

We'll see if they learn, listen, and put in the work. They were nowhere close to ready in the spring. Didn't see the instincts. Athleticism alone won't cut it in this league. The difference with TH is the instincts. That is more important than talent. Maybe they'll surprise me.
Where the hell does North Dakota State recruit from and why isn't anyone competing there? Hire an OC or DC (or coach) from there and get some of it. Gotta figure some want to get out of the cornfields and the P5 aren't taking them in large numbers.
