Exclamation WKU receives 2 points in the Coaches' Poll
http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/football/fb...aches-poll

We have never hosted a team from the SEC in football. That will come to an end this coming Saturday when we host Vanderbilt.

The atmosphere in the stadium should be electric. It should match (or surpass) the environment we had during the 2012 season when we played both Southern Mississippi and Louisiana-Monroe. The game with Southern Mississippi that year is currently our record crowd. We had 23,252 in attendance.

We might be playing without Marcus Ward, Forrest Lamp, Anthony Wales, and D'Andre Ferby. All 4 very important players for us.

Even with all the key injuries we have right now we are currently a 7 1/2 point favorite against Vanderbilt.

Stop Ralph Webb and you'll beat Vandy.

I am rooting for WKU in this game. I might even be forced to root for WKU throughout the season. CUSA needs at least one team to earn some national respect for this conference.

If we are without Ward , Lamp , Ferby , and Whales? I don't give us a chance! Other than Taylor those are our best 4 players IMO. It showed against Miami Ohio not having them. We were good enough to overcome the loss of those players against a bad team this past weekend, and I know Vandy is not good, but they still have enough talent to wear us down without depth

No excuses....

just win! Good teams over come injuries. Western did it last year when Allen went down and I expect to find a way to keep winning. Other than Bama there is no team on Western's schedule that shouldn't be a win. Of course I don't expect to win them all (well I kind of do LOL) but good teams win. Period.

So Brohm voted you 24th this week instead of 25th?

To keep CUSA streak of ranked teams, WKU is the only hope for this conf. now...Really need Lamp to be back for this game, no word from anyone on injury, hopefully not as serious as we think...

Vanderbilt is awful. I think WKU rolls at home.

Broom just said in his press conference that he'll be out for an extended period of time. Surgery not required.

Well that stinks. He was by far our best lineman. Hope he can get well

RE: WKU receives 2 points in the Coaches' Poll
Not looking good and I don't have a great feeling for upcoming game vs. Vandy....Lamp is out an extended period of time according to Brohm, his knee got rolled up on....Brohm said will not require surgery but just a guess he will be out a month or so, probably sprained or tore his MCL reading in between the lines...Our starting safety Ward who has started since 2013 is out an extended period of time...our 2 RB's also nursing hamstring and should injuries...Not to mention another valuable OL still hurt in Manley....

Are other coaches as vague as Brohm is about injuries? I know I have saw other programs give timetables on players, with Brohm and WKU its all a guessing game..I am sure the coaches and staff know timetables set for these players...We are still wondering about Leon Allen, nothing has been said except his rehab was behind and that was 3 months ago..

RE: WKU receives 2 points in the Coaches' Poll
Got to have strong 2nds or you get the yo-yo that other programs have seen that Western has mostly avoided over the last 5 seasons. So move the next guy in there and let them do the job they are getting a scholarship for. Yes I know it's not that simple but good programs do exactly that. I think Western has shown over the past 5 years we have a good program...

not just a good team

Don't care how they do it...ugly, lucky, whatever...JUST WIN
