I think that the AAC gets a bump over the MWC too. If you just take a look at what the CFP committee has done they have made the AAC the defacto P6 and the Committee will likely award the AAC the NY6 game if the AAC champion has 2 losses or less.

In year one of the CFP rankings ECU of the the AAC was the first G5 team ever ranked in the first ever CFP poll even though ECU had one loss. Boise State and Marshall couldn't even get ranked in the CFP poll until week 14. At that point every AAC school had at least 3 losses so none of them could enter the rankings.

In year 2 of the rankings 4 AAC teams were ranked and poor Toledo of the MAC kept getting passed by those AAC teams even though some of the AAC teams had a loss and Toledo had none.

This year the AAC has had 2 two loss teams that the CFP committee have ranked near or above undefeated WMU of the MAC.

The AMERICAN has the most p5 wins this year.

We also went 11-1 vs. the other G5 conference + Army/UMass. The next best league was MWC at 11-8.

We were also undefeated vs. the FCS. The MAC lost four times to FCS schools.

It doesn't matter the metric, The AMERICAN is better than you.
