Rolleyes De ja vu: sounds familiar...
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/clay-h...43676.html

Quote:Seven first-half penalties derailed an offense that averaged 5.8 yards per play and at times moved the ball effectively both on the ground and through the air. The USC coaches also were very cautious with first-year quarterback Max Browne, twice calling for first-half draw plays on third-and-long and also punting in the second quarter on fourth-and-5 from the Stanford 40-yard-line.

This coaching tree needs to be cut down and used as fire wood.

Somebody must have questioned McGee on why he didn't pass more. Illinois ended up with 3 rushing yards.

What about in the Charlotte game yesterday where Eastern Michigan kicked off from the Charlotte 20 yard line. Yes, the Charlotte 20 yard line:

Yeah, they did. That was after a TD and several post scoring penalties, obviously.

I understand the officials or the (embarrassed) coaches ended that game 12 minutes early as sort of a "Mercy rule" due to the score. One could blame the player's faulty judgement if not for the repeated instances of FBS and NFL players dropping the ball short of the goal line for touchbacks.
