I have no idea when they were made but I agree, their art style is very cool. Wish someone would recreate them with the current FBS conferences.

The old ACC one is from the 68-70 time frame

Another reminder there is definitely a lack of originality in the SEC conference when it comes to team names.

All very unoriginal and cliche sports team names. Although I will give the SEC credit for originality to the Gators, Gamecocks, Crimson Tide, Volunteers, Rebels, and Razorback.

Some other thoughts

, interesting to see all the American Indian mascots from years ago. They do seem out of date in this politically correct age.

I realize today that although I can easily name all the Ivy league schools, I have no idea what they call their sports teams.

Dartmouth and Stanford were both called the Indians back then.

We definitely need more of this though. Anyone know any artists who want to give it a go? hahaha

it'd be funny to see an annual one for the Big East devolving into the AAC (and I don't mean devolving as an insult to the current members, just the conference losing member after member and divorcing, etc)

Five of the original Big East eight teams are still playing under the Big East banner. Syracuse is now in the ACC, UConn is in the AAC, and one other school that's all but forgotten.

The ACC one still had South Carolina, and they left in 1971. Houston didn't join the SWC conference until 1972, so that appears to be why they weren't in the portrait.
