Top to bottom, it's hard to argue that CUSA is better than Sun Belt so far, in my opinion. I'm of the opinion that we are clearly the worst conference in the country.

According to the Massey Ratings, CUSA is the worst.

Be careful what you wish for. Everyone seems to be under the impression UAB will come back and win like they did in their last year.

It's much more likely they pull a couple of Charlotte years before they become respectable again.

I'm in Birmingham now, and I'm considering making that Alabama A&M opener.

We are quietly stockpiling talent. When we return we will have more pure talent in the field than we did in 2014. Depth may be an issue for one season.

I predict we will be quickly the most hated team in the conference with people screaming unfair. My reply willl be shut your program down for two years and you can do the same thing. It's been a very rough ride but we will come out on the other side with new facilities, an upgrade in talent, and a new stadium on the horizon.

It would be easy to make that assumption given the history of startup programs. UAB isn't quite in the same situation of a startup program and have been afforded some recruiting advantages not afforded to a traditional startup program.

Like AB stated, depth will be an issue but talent will not be. I expect UAB to be competitive rather quickly even though it may not reflect from a win/loss perspective.

Hey don't get me wrong. I'd not mind a resurgent UAB and i'm certainly not being critical of your program, i'm just of the opinion that one cannot overlook a program not playing football for multiple years and with all veteran talent gone, expecting to come back firing on all cylinders. Maybe things click, maybe the troubles are worse than they seem, who knows. Best of luck though, I hope you guys have a great year next year just to stick it to UAT.

Sorry, but UAB won 7 games in 2000 and 2004. They've made one bowl game and lost. Those are their only two winning seasons in FBS. They were just another one of those teams I didn't like being on the schedule either. I know their program being cut was harsh but I'm not nostalgic about them or anything.

RE: Just woke up after a looooong day... I checked CUSA SCORES... bad mistake
I am kinda thankful for UAB's program. When then-Sunbelt FAU had that regrettable 0-10 record going into the last two games of the season (2011), it was up to UAB to rescue us from the ignominy of a winless season. Blazers did come through for us. They took a ride on the bus called "Alfred Morris" for 4 TD. At times he had to drag their entire team across the goal line. Everyone on the field knew Alfred was getting the ball, everyone in the stands knew he was getting the ball, everyone listening to the radio broadcast of the game knew he was getting the ball. Yet, Blazers did everything in their power to lose that game to us.

A hearty thanks to you guys!

P.S. Even though we finished that season 1-11, we did not have a single game where we allowed more than 44 points (and we had to play the #22 Florida and #17 Michigan State that year). We just allowed 63 to an unranked Kansas State...

That's ok, we will enjoy kicking your butt when we return. 04-cheers
