Last play observation..
I re-watched the last play 10 times and it seemed that was Mullens BEST option for the play that was called. Ito coming out of the backfield sort of slowed down it seemed because he knew he was not going to be an option. If he had cut to his right he would have beat that DB but as I saw it , it was designed with him as a "no option". Swaggers, who was in motion and was "open" in the left flat.would have more than likely been converged upon and stopped short of the goal line. The other two were covered good. That's what I saw,

..fade to the corner to Thompson was the play from the Ten....a quick slant to EeeToe and let him waterbug in would have worked.....That play was BS...and they had 2 timeouts to come up with a good play.

One thing about Fed, he always had a rabbit in a hat for those situations.

RE: Last play observation..
I'm not happy with Dawson, but not because of that play. On a last play situation from that far out, you're going to get zone coverage. Can't really throw a 1 on 1 fade route against that kind of coverage. Usually you'll see people do exactly what we did, run somebody along the back line of the end zone. That's what fedora did with Kelvin Bolden in the UAB game (that we ended up losing) in 2010.

I'm concerned that Dawson has caused Mullens to regress, but I can't get mad over that 1 call.

the 'fade' is a bs call every day and the eighth one....and DJ doesn't have the best hands on the planet....

this is where the TEs become valuable....

you have to have "conviction" to win....ya gotta have fk'n balls....
