RE: Wyoming Cowboys
Longer range we have one RB in this class Knox out of Columbus OH who I think will surprise if he signs, really need another one in this class. Knox has FB size potential power runner.

I'll speculate.

I'm not sure that we have enough horses in the backfield.

First, I see Banham as a utility players who does a little of everything including special teams.

Ian is good for say 10 - 15 carries. I still do not see him as a 'home run' hitter RB.

I would like one or two RBs with 'to the house' speed and quicks. Turner might have it.

Otherwise, Parker?

RE: Wyoming Cowboys
As for this game in general, our defense (DBs and LBs) will need to play out of their minds. We don't have the luxury of going against WYO's 3rd-string QB this time around, and Brian Hill is a legit rushing threat. Hill will get his yards, and they will score on us, but we'll have to mitigate both as best we can.

The plus side is Wyoming's defense isn't their strength either. If Porter plays as well as he did last week, we will put a lot of points on the board as well.

I see this being a 41-35 game, with either team capable of winning. We're going to have to have a game to remember to be on the winning side of that score.

Frank,

I agree that WYO isn't the same team which last year was very young, inexperienced (esp at QB) and last, but not least, didn't seem to know what time the game started.

It was incredible watching a team, at home, two time zones away which didn't come to play at game time.

I'm predicting a nice crowd. I've invited a few friends. Easier to get people to go on a Friday And the fact our local HS has a road game helps. The weather looks good for now.

EMU needs to pull all stops to get students to the game. A little media coverage this week will help too. Hoping we also get some buzz on social media because that seems to be how most of the younger people become aware of things. We all need to push out the info to get this thing going. If EMU has an exciting win in front of a good crowd they will come back.

I like the idea of Friday night games (yes, I know h.s. play Friday night).

It is a good time for students, etc. to blow off the evening.

I'd assume many students would rather get their athletic entertainment Friday night and do whatever else they want on Saturday and Sunday.

I didn't know many students who studied on Friday night. 02-13-banana

That's true Steve I was at the Second Chance most Fridays studying Molson's 101 or the Art Design of a Gin and Tonic Glass.

I think it starts further up, in the front 4. If their RB is getting to our LB's and DB's we're in trouble. As always, pressure on the QB on passing downs will be a big factor. Much easier for DB's to cover 3 seconds vs. 5 seconds. Their QB was 16/32 with 5 picks vs. Nebraska. Pressure does crazy things to a QB.

Same for our OL and Porter. He has thrown a few picks this year, needs to have ZERO in this game.

This is the perfect example why we shouldn't welcome trolls on our board. Give them an inch, and they'll take a mile.

Love the gigantic pics of Wyoming players. Can you imagine going to the Wyoming board and posting a bunch of enlarged pics of our players over there? I'm sure we'd be welcomed with open arms.

Wow

Definitely. Can't make our LBs and secondary make tackles on running plays. Hasn't gone well for us the past two years. I meant the back 7 will need to play great in pass coverage *in addition* to the front 4 playing great rush defense.

For what it's worth, my wife and I will be up from Louisville for this game. My wife's mom grew up near Snake River, Wyoming and we had the pleasure this past summer to get to Yellowstone and got to your a bunch of Wyoming. It's absolutely gorgeous out there! However, hopefully Wyoming shows that same hospitality when they visit Ypsilanti Friday night!

Dude, seriously. If you aren't trolling then why don't YOU have ANY posts about the EMU game on your own board. There are 3 separate threads about the game and you have never commented on them.

Wouldn't waste my time. Get off our board. If we care to, we can find all the info and links and pics we want about Wyoming, without your help.

Yeah, you're all mellow, out there in God's country, we know, we know.......... you're also apparently an idiot that can't take a hint.

Move on.

Are you clueless or what?

Meh - he's harmless ETough - what's funny is the total lack of respect I'm seeing from the Wyoming fans - beating a down-year NIU and FCS UC-Davis clearly makes them a MW contender and a two-TD favorite Friday from what I'm reading.

Don't listen to that clown. He calls longtime fans/alumni/contributors like myself "trolls." He has been a "fan" of EMU for exactly 1 year, has never taken a class at EMU and he thinks he owns the place. Dude is a chump, living vicariously through his son, who is a good player. Ignore him.
