Quote:I think if both Toledo and WMU were 11-0 heading into the Black Friday game, they would probably have the schools flex the game to Saturday and have Game Day in Kalamazoo.
Problem is for that, it's rivalry week, so it probably wouldn't happen. Although ND vs USC wouldn't be as 'big', and Florida vs Florida State may not be, UM vs Ohio State almost certainly would.
We'd need teams to beat up on each other, and WMU & Toledo to be 11-0 and well ranked + CMU being 9-2 only to us, for that to be considered if UM & OSU BOTH lose to MSU and MSU is the clear divisional champ by that time.
In the Year of the MAC ('03), they had Gameday for NIU vs BGSU. Both undefeated somewhat early on, but the MAC *pounded* BCS schools that year.
Beating Northwestern, Illinois, OK-State, and Virginia -- probably won't cut it. BUT, here's how it could work, breaking it down:
Week 4: OK-State beats @Baylor + Northwestern upsets Nebraska [CMU beats @Virginia; Illinois has a bye]
So then, what does 4-0 WMU vs 4-0 CMU measure up to, reflecting present records?
3-0 Louisville @ 3-0 Clemson
3-0 Tennessee @ 3-0 Georgia
3-0 Wisconsin @ 3-0 Michigan
2-0 Stanford @ 3-0 Washington
Basically, no ranked undefeated teams playing a rivalry 1L conference team, or 2 0L teams playing each other would be necessary, IMO. We'd need Louisville to have a loss @Marshall next week (lol) to take away that from Gameday, along with Michigan or Wisconsin to lose 1, and Tenn or Georgia to lose 1, and maybe Stanford or Washington to lose 1. :)
