Still worth adding NDSU
They just beat #13 Iowa.

They aren't close but they would boost the conference more than anyone.

That would be a MAC addition. Way out of our footprint.

I'll pass. I don't want to lose to them (kidding.... kind of).

MAC. But why would NDSU move up? They got the best of both worlds. Unique situation.

Screw the geography. Every other conference is crazy. They compete well in football and basketball.

But seriously, I don't know how they would rather just dominate their level and not step up to the MAC. They could pull off some Houston level upsets. App St and GS fans don't regret the move that all the FCS loyalists warn about.

RE: Still worth adding NDSU
I doubt any FCS to FBS move up regrets the move. The increased exposure alone is worth the move. Not to mention the bigger games, crowds, and better quality. The day after we beat Ohio my church had one of their huge church picnics and of course I wore a TXST shirt. A lot of people made comments to me about our win and people at work did so throughout the week as well. Ohio is basically unknown around here but people knew about our game. I never heard anything like that when we were FCS but to be fair I didn't really wear TXST clothes and follow the program like I do now when we were FCS.

That's just the tip of the iceburg.

If we can entertain the idea of Idaho as a permanent football member, no reason not to do the same with NDSU.

I doubt they would have any interest in the SBC, though.

NDSU has all of that with five titles in a row.

Tough for them to want to go to the bottom of the heap moving up a level.

They may not end up being a bottom feeder, but I'm okay with them not wanting to be just another program whose season likely at best ends up in the Motor City Bowl.

They are sorta different. How many more fans in North Dakota than they have now can you get by moving to FBS? Not that many I'm thinking.

Sorry, the guy I was replying to mentioned that App and GS fans don't regret moving up. I somehow thought that he was implying that other FCS to FBS move up fans might regret the move.

You're right about NDSU though, they gain nothing.

I wouldn't mind substituting NDSU for Idaho (I know they are leaving) and adding JMU.

Lost by 1 to JSU in Jacksonville. Not sweating it, #4 team in the nation, in their place. And we lost our 2nd string quarterback early in the second quarter

NDSU already thinks they've earned top 25 poll votes and JMU made their bed.

We're fine where we are.

RE: Still worth adding NDSU
I read that NDSU has a local TV deal worth 1.2 million.
They have way more exposure than any Sun Belt team .
Two gameday weekend's and a sportscaster were broadcasted there.
They average 19k with no discounted tickets already.

What would they have to gain?
