Clemson is thwacking in-state "rival" South Carolina State 45-0 at halftime ... including a 31-point first quarter.

One TD was a gift: A Bulldog caught a Clemson KO in the end zone, didn't want to run it out and flipped it to the official behind him ... but without first taking a knee. The official dodged the ball, letting it fall to the ground, where a Clemson special teamer covered it for a TD.

Clemson and South Carolina State will be playing 12-minute quarters in the second half.

It's 45-0 Tigers.

Now 41-21 at halftime. Four of the five 2Q Zip TDs came after two interceptions, a sack/fumble and blocked punt.

I can imagine that the Herd's halftime in Huntington will be intense.

A 78-yard TD pass to open the 3rd quarter gives Middle Tennessee a 35-21 lead at Bowling Green.

It's possible that Florida St will drop a spot or two in the rankings.

Extra bleachers boosted the capacity of Appalachian State's stadium by 50 percent, and they still have an enthusiastic standing room -- and hillside-beyond-the-fence -- crowd for their game in Boone, N.C. with Miami.

The Mountaineers have been spirited -- nearly running back a pick at the Miami goal line -- but the Hurricanes are adjusting to the altitude and lead 31-10 midway through 3Q.

Louisville is scary. They better rocket up the rankings after this performance. All over FSU near the end of the 3rd - up 49 to 10.

Have to think they will be 2 or 3, depending on Ohio State's outcome tonight. UH has to be very pleased, considering Louisille will likely be the only other ranked team they face all year besides OU

If both teams keep this up, the UH-Louisville game will likely be a Top 5 match-up and, with it so late in the season, basically a play-in game for the playoff.

Kansas getting spanked 43-7 by Memphis. Can we do the relegation thing and trade places with Kansas?

You have to love the NDSU program. Despite changing coaches and not having their very best team they go into Iowa City and not only play toe to toe with Iowa but come away with a win. The program knows how to win no matter who they face. We need that kind of attitude.

So NDSU just beat #13 Iowa 23-21 (Frizzy beat me to the punch). Can we get their coach Chris Klieman on our list?

"Chris is a man of high integrity and character, and his leadership of the young men in this program goes beyond the football field," said NDSU athletic director Matt Larsen. "He is developing successful students who will go on to great things after football. I am impressed with his passion, energy, and the level of respect he's earned from his players, staff and the local community."

Bad news though, he recently signed a 6 year contract extension.

The NDSU head coach (Chris Klieman) has been there since 2014. Has compiled a 30-3 record since he arrived.

If you were talking about historically, they have don an absolutely amazing job since 1963 (poking around their wikipedia). The worst head coaching record since than was a two year stint by some guy named Ev Kjelbertson who went 17-13. Pretty much every other coach lost around 3 games per year since then. It's nuts.
