Easy to do when the game was never really in doubt. Great win, but the MAC West is still gonna be a dogfight. Should be a great game in two weeks.

Anyone have a spare QB we can borrow? Oh, and a defensive coordinator. And, well, just about everything else too.

In my opinion, the biggest surprise of the season isn't directional Michigan or the collapse of the MAC East. The biggest surprise is the Huskies of Northern Illinois. Does anyone know what's going on with them other than Hare's injury?

Hmm, you could check the threads on our board about a Rumor. Basically, that the players rebelled before the bowl game last year. Don't know if that's it or if we just ran out of talent with all the pre-Carey recruits being gone and we don't have the coaching to deal with an average, or less, talent level.

But to go from a tie for first place in the west last year to starting 0-3 this season that's drastic.

1-2 BGSU
1-2 Kent St
1-2 Ohio

3 teams playing really well.
based on competition rank them CMU, WMU and Toledo

down a notch but very competitive is Ohio

3 teams w an FCS home win, a G5 road win, and a P5 road loss
based on competition rank them Akron, Ball St., E Michigan
none of these 3 seem likely to challenge for the conf title but all seem to be improving as season goes on, who knows...

none of these look good: NIU, BG, Kent, Miami, Buffalo (ranked by performance and competition level). maybe, NIU or BG will get it back together or one of the rest will find an offense, but don't bet on this group.

Looks like Akron could be a threat in the East. They get BG at home and should beat the rest of the East with OU being the fly in the ointment.

Yes MAC West is tops in conference for football and but let's not forget it's the MAC East dominates when it comes to basketball so it balances out.

RE: Week 3 Thread
Miami has outgained and out first-downed all three opponents thus far, but stupid penalties and bad special teams have really killed us. It may not look like we're getting much better judging by record and our mind-blowing collapse against EIU, but we're creeping along imo. Unfortunately this early schedule is quite the gauntlet, we've got UC, OU, and Akron coming up so we could very well 0-6 before we even really get into the meat of MAC play. We've won only one game as the underdog under Martin, that needs to change starting next Saturday in Cincinnati.

Siince this is a football thread, we are only talking about football. Who cares that the only reason the East plays football is to help occupy their time until basketball season starts?

the breaks will start to balance out if the coaching remains focused. I could see Miami having a shot at the upset with Cincy this week. They are gonna shock a couple of better teams this yr if they keep fine tuning their passing game.
