I don't care how bad we are at football right now. What is worse, is the local coverage, or lack thereof, for our Rice Owls. I have watched 7 news casts on KPRC (channel 2) this week, including today's 6PM and 10PM newscasts, and there was no mention at all of our game vs Baylor on Friday night.

where you can call in with news stories. I made sure to call in after both newscasts today to inform them that there is another D1 football team in this city (Rice) and that they are hosting the top 25 Baylor Bears tomorrow. At least we can garner the interest in the average person and possibly put a few extra butts in the seats.

I encourage everyone to call in and do the same. I plan on doing the same for every major sports event this year for our school that they do not air.

KHOU: 713 526 1111 (I think they do the best job of covering Rice out of the big 3).

Are people scared to cover this game because Baylor is deplorable and Rice is not good at football? There has been zero coverage of this game in the city from print, tv or radio.

And, I expect that coverage of Houston's big win over Cincinnati will drown out most of the pregame write-ups of tonight's Baylor-Rice contest.

Channel 11 just showed the JFK go to the moon speech, and mentioned the game tonight against Baylor.
