8. Loyola
9. WIU
10.EIU
11. Chicago St

Would be nearly impossible to get Illinois and highly unlikely to get DePaul. And not sure if could get more than one MVC. But has appeal and potential with the right 4.

SIU-Edwardsville is also a D1 program albeit not as big of a name. They are in the OVC. I think you could get 8 teams under the right circumstances. All these schools are desperate for revenue and it would probably generate some money. It would definitely generate fans interest which would hopefully translate to more involvement for each program. Would backfire for teams that are bad though.

RE: BBAL Schedule is finally out!
Personally, I like the schedule. I realize that bigger name teams may bring bigger crowds, but losses will keep people away. I never enjoy losses, and I always enjoy wins - no matter who we play. Hell, I even enjoy the exhibition game blowouts. Winning is fun. It also helps the team psychologically, building their confidence, and gets their mojo going for the MAC portion of the schedule. The OOC is really just exhibition for the conference games, anyway. We could play tougher teams and win, but it's all for naught in getting into the Big Dance unless we win the conference. I will never get upset with the schedule.

You guys make good points about the schedule, I probably overreacted to it, I just hate to see those Olivet and Illinois Springfield games so late in the non-conf season. It is a pretty tough road schedule and then when you throw onto that a very hard MAC schedule, it is probably good to have a break with the non-conf home part of it.

Very hard MAC schedule? Did the Mac add Duke, Kentucky and UNC?

And the road conference teams were a coined 54-104 last year

MAC was the 11th best conference in the nation last year and 2nd best mid major conference, so yep Id say tough!

Road portion is great? The 5 teams had a winning % of about .340 last year. We need to be a LOT better on that end.

Does that make any sense? I am just happy to see them in person in Tampa.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another Huskie gathering in Tampa in December? And one in Miami? Definitely up for both!

Just realized this looking at the BBall Schedule...

We play Indiana St. twice this season?!? Really?

There's nearly 400 D-1 basketball teams, we have 13 or 14 games OOC, and we play a team twice?!

An assistant coach said that both teams needed another home game, so did a home and away with each other

Home and away with a non-conference foe really is not that common these days .... as evidenced by the fact your hunt led to you posting one example at 2:25 a.m.

In a relative sense it is a lot more common now than it used to be, that is the only fact I was stating.
