Way too early to ask but if Houston gets into the playoffs
Can the AAC still put a team in a NY6 Bowl?
Does the G5 even get a slot if Houston gets into the playoffs?
Just questions....

Nope.
I've already read several articles stating that if a G5 team gets into the playoffs, then the New Years G5 spot is no longer required.
So you can bet, that it will be filled by another P5 team.

Not required to fill the mandatory G5 spot, but IIRC, if they're ranked high enough they can still be required to make a NY 6 Bowl as an at-large.

This is correct. If an AAC team is ranked high enough to get one of the at large NY6 access slots then contractually the bowl has to take them as the highest ranked at large team.
It's unlikely to happen.

Yeah, I think zero chance. There is the possibility, however, that Houston loses the AAC championship game, misses the playoff, but still makes a NY6 Bowl as an at-large team.
