Rolleyes UT celebrating their championship
I had no idea they celebrated like this after their win. It is both embarrassing and hilarious.

It's tough beating an unranked team with a new coach and young players. Give Butch some credit.

I live near Knoxville. You guys have no idea how hyped this game was.

There was an hour-long tailgate TV show live from Bristol before the game.

It was hyped as much as our NCAA championship game. I am not kidding.

Watched some of the game.

UTK has improved some- but- they won that game because VTech lost four fumbles...carelessly.

VT was up 14-0 with the ball and ran near midfield...when a 15 yard low block penalty was called- putting them back to their twenty when they fumbled the next play. That same VT kid later got called for the same 15 yard penalty. Incredible self destruction, and Butch's rah rah style is well suited for that.

We had a couple of running backs with fumble-itis when Fuente was here. He's a good offensive coach and a great qb coach - but maybe his staff has some issues with rb fundamentals.

saw where the coach said he thought it was "over the top". I think a good bit of it was set up by the Bristol folks, regardless of winner.

Yep

Regardless of what anyone thinks of UT or Fuente, it was a heckuva event and atmosphere.

Almost like a Bonnaroo for CFB fans.

Yeah, one thing I realized watching Va Tech give the game away with penalty after penalty was that Fuente's style apparently has a negative byproduct of penalties.

While I was watching I saw TWO illegal blocks called on the Hokies. There were other penalties as well.

It reminded me of the way we used to rack up penalties.

Well unless you actually are a fan of the game. Because it looked like the vast majority of those seats couldn't see the game if their lives depended on it.

Bristol made it a once in a lifetime event, hyped it with patches on the jerseys and passing out the t-shirts to the winners....of the game. A single, hyped game. Wait a couple of weeks after the Florida game and the world will be right again.
