SEC Week Three
As i try and recover from that butt kicking from Miss St I figured I'd start a thread for this week's slate of games

Ohio @ UT - 12:00 SECN
Vanderbilt @ GT - 12:30 ACCN/Watch ESPN
Alabama @Ole Miss - 3:30 CBS
ECU @ SCar - 4:00 SECN
NMSU @UK - 4:00 SECN
Miss St @ LSU -7:00 ESPN2
A&M @ Auburn - 7:00 ESPN
North Texas @ UF - 7:30 ESPNU
Texas St @ Arkansas - 7:30 SECN
UGA @ Missouri - 7:30 SECN

Alabama/Ole Miss should be a great out, bummed I won't get a chance to sit down and watch that one. I honestly think Ole Miss might have a chance to pull this one even after their collapse against FSU.

A&m@ Auburn intrigues me as well. Two big time schools with coaches somewhat struggling. I think the losing coach sees his seat get just a little bit hotter.

I'll also add, unless South Carolina's OL drastically improves I think ECU beats us at home, giving them two straight wins against P5 schools. I hope I'm wrong but that would make for good fodder for the ECU/SEC thread.

It's very possible. It's gonna take a couple of seasons for South Carolina to get going.

ECU lost 7 games last season but they were only handled once by Navy. The rest of their games were very competitive. They're coach appears to know what he's doing too.

He motivates them and he himself appears very motovated.

This weekend there are some really solid games. I'm looking forward to it.

Alabama has OL issues as well.

They are serious enough to seriously question our making the CFP.

This games scares me. The Wildcats derp factor is so high right now they could find a way to get boat raced in this one

New Mexico State is consistently one of the worst FBS teams. If Stoops loses that one then they might as well fire him on the spot.

For South Carolina, I really don't think they should have hired Muschamp. You're swimming in talent at Florida and if you can't take advantage of it then I just don't think you're any good. He was a good DC, but not the CEO. I know Muschamp wasn't the first choice, but I would have maybe gone with a young head coach looking for an opportunity over him.

Did he have a different OC every year? They left for better jobs or were fired for sucking

I think they also left to get away from him. Muschamp, much like Kiffin is proof of the Peter Principle

I think he had at least 3.

Charlie Weiss...big mistake
Brent Pease
Kurt Roper

Outside of Weiss, they were all successful in their other stops.

To be fair, I think South Carolina tried to get Herman from Houston but he said no. I don't blame him either. He had a great team coming back versus taking on a rebuilding job.

Alabama-Ole Miss is the big one, but I'm interested to see Auburn vs. Texas A&M as well...

JMO, but the Auburn D looked good 2 weeks ago against Clemson....if they get the offense going, look out.

Also, how good is Texas A&M?? They could have a surprisingly good year

I think you have #1 SEC vs. #2 SEC in the first matchup, and possibly #3 vs. #4 SEC in the second

From an SEC point of view there are some intriguing matchups throughout the day. Coupled with tOSU/OU and FSU/'Ville, its going to be another great weekend of CFB

Yeah, it's definitely gonna be a great week. It actually starts Thursday night with #6 Houston at Cincinnati. Cincy played them close last year so it might be one to watch.

The one I'm most looking forward too is obviously Texas A&M @ Auburn. I can't hang my head too long on the Clemson game but I do wonder what the result would have been had we not done the craziest stuff I have ever seen offensively.

This Auburn A&M matchup just feels like a Tiger win.

Charlie Weiss (2011) - Forced on him by the AD
Brent Pease (2012-13)- Trendy pick at the time but he has kind of proven he was way over his head
Kurt Roper (2014)- Current SC OC. Did better in 2014 with Treon Harris than McElwain did in 2015 with Will Grier

Look it wasn't the perfect hire but the main reason Muschamp was fired as that 4-8 season with a loss to Ga Southern. I think they lost a quarter of their scholarship guys to season ending injuries that year and he had Treon Harris as his QB. After that, UF brass decided they didn't want him and fired him after what would have been an 8-5 year in 2014.

Also, I don't think anyone can reasonably expect more from WM than 5-6 wins this year. The roster he inherited is atrocious.

You're right about that, but I'm saying I don't expect more than that if he's there 3-4 years. I'm not basing that off the first couple of games. It's much easier to recruit players at Florida and he couldn't take advantage of it so I don't have much faith he's going to turn USC around.

I am looking forward to TXST playing Arkansas. I expect an Arkansas win with the depth issues at TXST right now. But I sure wouldn't mind seeing Arkansas overlooking the Bobcats by looking at A&M next week and an upset occurring.
