RE: UAB Basketball Recruiting Update – September
I would love a freshmen backcourt of Christon and Bryant. Long and athletic backcourt that could actually get to the bucket and finish. Christon is a very good free throw shooter also.

If i had to guess

Smith
Reese or Gueye
Grant or Negron
Christon or Boyd?
BRYANT

Also Luis Hurtado, could fit somewhere

Also we need size and true post players. Would be great to see HaHa on tha perimeter and us having enough height and size to keep him there.

I would hold off on guards unless its a pg and bring two in for 2017. I think 2018 will be an improvement on the recruiting front.

Agree w/ most of analysis. Only quick note is Boyd committed to EKU last night. He joins Peyton Broughton who we were also recruiting at one point when Haase was still here. The new staff was not actively recruiting either, so we did not lose out to EKU.

RE: UAB Basketball Recruiting Update – September
It appears Hurtado isn't being heavily recruited at the moment for a variety of reasons.

Since late spring 247 has predicted he'll sign with us over offers from USC, Maryland, and Georgia. Weird thing is it shows we haven't offered him.

In June he was in Venezuela with their U17 national team and in July he participated in the Peach Jam with E1T1 and had a pretty bad showing. We were there watching Polley with E1T1 at the time so I bet we saw what we needed to see and are moving on at the moment.

Unless he is the second coming of Steph Curry a 6-1 150 pound combo guard is probably not going to be too high on our list at this given time. However it's interesting that he went on the visit to Arizona State with Reese and Garrison last month.

This same kid was at our elite camp. Also at 6-1 150 is known for his defensive presence and is bigger than Norton.

It's not really fair for me to knock his size with out seeing him play. I suppose what I meant is players with his measurables are a lot easier to come across than say some of the guys we have been after this recruiting season.

Also Cordell Pope is available a 2015 forward we offered under Hasse. At this point im signing maybe two JuCos.

I get the feeling Gabe Grant is ours if we want him this weekend on his visit. Just my gut feeling though.

What's really gonna be bad is if we lose Cokley and Lee to Pros Early or grad transfer. Then we'd have to replace Tosin, Cokley, And Lee.

If Cokley and Lee have go-pro-early seasons, I'll be too busy admiring the new banner to worry about recruiting.
