A lot of effort being used here, over a rule that doesn't seem that big a deal. The mood of the board was borderline apocalyptic after the Tennessee Martin game. It's one thing to sound a bit despondent immediately following the game but it carried for a week. I can't even imagine a whole season of it. No one would want to view this board.

When free Blacks went back to Africa they promptly made all of the natives non citizens, installed their own constitution, and enslaved the native population. That lasted until the 1960's then the natives got restless and staged a coup.

I'm not supporting these demands or promoting them...I'm just explicitly stating what everyone else dances around when they use phrases like:

"we have to level the playing field"
"we have to be honest about race relations"
"we have to engage in a dialogue"
"we have to have this conversation"

I'm certain you've heard these phrases bandied about, and because these goals are never explicitly discussed, we never "engage in a dialogue". We simply dance around the obvious and think we've done the topic due diligence.

Allow me to explain why that's a retarded argument on three levels:
1. This board is dedicated to the school, the team, the players, the program as a whole. Not the people posting on.
2. The idea of you going on a board that's intended for those who are enthusiastic/fans of something, only to complain about said something, is irrational, asinine and an example of anti-social behavior I'd attribute to pre-pubescent children.
3. This is a very petty thing to protest. I don't think I'm "devouring" you all by saying that. You're just being overly dramatic, because you didn't get your way.

Discussion of job performance by a school official? Fair game. Discussion desiring a school official to be fired? Fair game. If that school official happens to be performing on a Nick Saban level though, I can see that sliding from fair game to "put down the pipe". Discussion of the personal life of a school official and going after them personally? Not fair game.

Notice the AUP says attack. It doesn't say criticize. Subtle but important difference.

In my opinion, if Eastside said to Doss "resort to drugs" because you suck at rhymes or you need assistance to cope with your personality disorder then that would rise to the level of a bannable offense. Since he used "resort to drugs" with no qualifier or specificity he should get a pass this time or receive a warning at best. It would also help if Eastside had used an emoticon like or to help portray his use and intent of "resort to drugs" as a less than serious jab. Of course, we need to be careful of where we draw the line between a personal attack and a playful jab. My $.02...
