RE: Attendance Projection for KANSAS game
I just got back from a Notre Dame weekend during our bye week. I realize we're not Notre Dame but d@mn. Weather was cloudy, windy with a 90% chance of rain, raining prior to kickoff and they were playing freaking Nevada. 80,000+ was there for their 250th consecutive sellout and were in their seats 30 minutes before kickoff. Big time football at its finest. We aspire to be big time, but if soccer, early start and possible less than desirable weather keeps fans from attending, supporting our team and school, then hell, big time is a long way off and our hopes of being in a power 5 conference is nothing more that a pipe dream. Hopefully we'll have a big crowd there to support and watch our Tigers, if not, sad to say the least.

RE: Attendance Projection for KANSAS game
I swear there must be some jerk Kansas alum at ESPN who got this game on ESPNU, otherwise we would be playing at 6p.

I hate 11a games. The. Worst.

I will be at Celtic pre-gaming that morning watching soccer and trying to get drunk beforehand.

Some of you guys are really downers too.

If it's dry, we will have 40K.

We have great, loyal fans. What we don't have is extra fans who cannot afford season tickets who fill in when season ticket holders have to miss s game

Attendance Projection for KANSAS game
I expect 40,000 as the minimum. Hopefully, we can get more than for the opener, but the lack of $5 tickets will hurt sales some.

11 am games means less time to drink pregame.

At least with the weather being warm we are assured that Clinton will not be there.

Anything north of 40K will be great.

1,000 fans for every point we score on Kansas, capping it at 62,000, of course.

I think there is a promotion going on the Cooper-Young Fest as well. Should be lots and lots of people in the area. Need 37K plus so we keep the attendance average above 40K.

Sadly, we'll be leaving around halftime for this exact reason.

Seems if someone can't go, give their tickets to someone who can. Kansas should be a good game.

Depends on whether Rudd/Bowen sack up and admit Memphis is out instead of parading around an NDA. Once they finally admit the inevitable, attendance will slack off, especially all those late walk-up numbers.

Shtt, UNLV brass have more balls and the prez is a female.

As long as they are keeping up the charade though, I'll guess 45K.

I signed up my 3 year old for soccer this season. They play at noon on Saturdays. Sadly, I'll probably have to miss the KU game.

RE: Attendance Projection for KANSAS game
I'm not sure the old model of game time attendance impact still applies. During the resurgence over the past couple of years, we've only had two noon-ish games. We've averaged 45k for those 2 games. One of course was Old Miss, so we got the bump for the hype game. The other was poorly attended SMU. However, SMU was rainy and it is right in-line with other rainy games of Tulane, Houston, Peay - no better, no worse. So noon did not impact G5 opponent games in similar conditions.

Unfortunately, weather continues to be the biggest factor in attendance. It hits us for about 20% when it rains.

I think we could have 45k if it's clear. Mid 30's if rainy. No way this game attendance drops in the 20's.

Channel 5 says 60% chance of rain on Saturday. We'll see.
