Worked once during a period of low morale, why not try it again.

seriously? what is your barometer on this? these guys came to play. they want the chance to prove they can lead the team to victory. i'll keep an eye on Northwestern but i don't think they had mass defections so far.

UofI hasn't had mass defections. heck even EMU holds tight on their players. this assumes that none of the SO-JRs want to be leaders, just winners.

Very few players looked like they wanted to be out there the first two games. I just don't know how long most players will go on playing in that type of way.

No matter basketball or football, MD is always predicting a mass player exodus. It's funny because it's so ridiculous, but mostly it's sad that he sticks to that narrative.

RE: No one is getting fired right now, nor should they
Not saying anyone deserves to be fired, but NIU has gone 8-9 since winning the 2014 MAC title. The Huskies have lost five straight, which is the longest losing streak since losing four in 2009-10. That's regression to me, nor is it capitalizing on an Orange Bowl appearance. This is a program on a huge downslide and is rather troubling to see after seeing where this program was just a few years ago. This season has the potential to be just as bad as the 2007 season after Garrett Wolfe left, meaning programs like Western Michigan and Central Michigan could take the spot where NIU was hoping it would be by now.

Just my two cents.
