RE: What's sad about Tulsa and Ohio State...
Biggest knock on Dane Evans is he only throws the ball at one speed, Hard. Quality QB's will use timing and just enough energy on the ball to get it to the receiver maybe a little more. Dane simply reverts to his old habit of throwing lazers with a flat arc when under pressure. In rainy conditions the receiver will simply drop that type of thrown ball most of the time. I put drops of that type mostly on the QB.

An FCS team hanging with a P5 team for a quarter or two is nothing new.

That's a stretch. Combine those three and then calculate the comparator. At least he's got troll points.

they were going to get their arse kicked one way or the other
they dont' have the speed, depth, or anything else to hang with Ohio State
To be fair, neither does Cincy.

that is correct
but if UC lost to them by that score, I wouldn't be on here acting like two plays cost us the game lol

We were all certainly surprised at how well our defense played in the first half as well as how good of a push our offensive line was getting initially. In my mind it wasn't the two interceptions that doomed us, it was the reversal of a first down to start the 2nd quarter that was so clearly a first down that even the Ohio State homer commentators were saying it was a first down.
Our defense didn't give up a TD until the 2nd half after Meyer had a rain delay to retool his gameplan. Everything going into that game was stacked against TU there were certainly some bright spots outside of Dane Evans' decision making.

That's not what I read on this board.

RE: What's sad about Tulsa and Ohio State...
I will site my comment in the 'what Tulsa needs to do against Ohio State'. I thought we were going to get our heads kicked in... I was excited to see us play rather well during the first 27 minutes, but as soon as I heard the game was going to be in a thunderstorm, I knew our vertical passing game would be even more limited than it would have been simply going against OSU's star recruits in the secondary. I don't think we through a deep ball all day, and we still managed to throw three interceptions.

I believed we had somewhat of a shot at overcoming Ohio State and the challenges they present if we did things right (or at least be competitive), but with that said I think it was pretty obvious to everyone that it was a David and Goliath type match-up. At least that's how I saw it.
