These guys seem mostly well-informed, to their credit.

They don't believe we'll score on them, I'm not so sure how informed they are.

Yep App and that juggernaut CUSA power FAU are roughly the same--- lol

Not only that but "they played each other and FAU almost won last season". I've never seen a fan base more ignorant. Clemson was informed, Tennessee fans were sort of informed; there is not one fan on Miami's boards actually presenting anything factual.

That puts them on par with the GA Tech fans.

Kick their asses, App!

RE: Miami (FL) at App State Discussion
the beauty of this game is we will probably have almost all the 2017 recruiting class and kids we are still trying to land, sitting in the stands. 35,000 plus screaming fans, watching App playing the U. This is once in a lifetime recruiting opportunity, as long as App is competitive, and give Miami a good game, those kids are going to leave with a really positive view of App, and I'm sure when SS talks to them months after the game, he will remind them of that game day experience and they could be part of that. We win even before the fist ball is snapped.

Yeah so far what I've seen on Caines Insight, message board Miami fans are the worst I've ever experienced.

No one over there is interested in a football or instituonal discussion, it's all thuggish "we bout dat bodybag lyfe" idiots. Makes our hombres in Statesboro on rivalry week seem like kittens....and that's saying something.

Took one glance at the canesinsight board and realized that 80% of the posters probably never stepped foot in a college classroom.

Miami hasn't really played anyone yet this season with a really bad FCS team FAMU, and a really bad G5 team in FAU.
This will be a good game to put in the spotlight right after Gameday. If no one took notice after the Tennessee game, they will after this Saturday.

They have a great QB and athletes (many young, but still talented).

App is going to have to play all 60 minutes, win the turnover battle, and it might come down to Lamb making a play with his arm and a group of unproven WRs.

One thing is certain there's no place I'd rather be in three days.

Any App fan who hasn't done everything they could to be there will sorely regret it Saint. We may not see this again for a while. We sort of "lucked" into landing this game/series. Wake will be cool but it won't be this frenzied.

Even Tennessee fans weren't so bad. We all know that the cut off line for the Southern nature of Florida is probably right around Gainesville. Even then, most of those "fans" are the type of people you'll find on NFL message boards. To the University's credit, Miami is a fine academic institution, is expensive and moderately difficult to be accepted into if you don't play sports. They aren't going to have a large contingent of fans who are well informed and actually have ties to the school. Thus, you are going to be arguing with a bunch of people who know nothing other than recruiting rankings and what Miami did in the 90's.

I have this mental image of a guy I saw at a Panthers game, wearing an 80's era Miami Dolphins jacket with those awful hat designs.

"Great QB" is debatable. Most people are giving him press based on his upside and skill set. Mentally, he isn't quite there to the great status. If you could mix players, and put Lambs thought process and football knowledge with Kaaya's skill set, you'd have a hell of a QB. For right now, Kaaya would be having a game similar to what Bridges had in 2014 if he plays extremely well in this one; an anomaly of sorts. It would also be an anomaly for Apps defense.

Regardless, the game plan will be opponent centric and that's a nice change of pace from watching the Panthers who will have the same game plan regardless of their opponent.

How is it debatable? Freshman of the year in 2014 in ACC, third team QB last year, preseason 2nd team behind Watson this year. Seems like people a lot more knowledgeable than I would say he's great.

If his oline can give him time I'm afraid you'll eat those words on Saturday. Kaaya is a projected 1st round draft pick for a reason.

Richt only throws when he needs to, he hasn't needed to against FAMU and FAU.

Kaaya threw two bad interceptions last week and missed several other throws. Once he perceives pressure his mechanics break down; he fails to step into his throws, try's to use his arm strength, falls off his back foot. I'm not saying Kaaya doesn't have the ability, all of his rankings are more indicative of the current state of QB play in the ACC. As of right now, Francois from FSU is the leader for best QB in the conference.

FAU didn't get any more pressure on Kaaya than a bottom tier ACC team would get he was rattled. Could he have a big game if the game plan calls for it? Is he a better pure QB than Dobbs? Yes to both. However, all App needs to do is mix up looks on the back end and constantly change where the 4th and 5th rushers are coming from to force Kaaya into some poor decisions.

He is also running a new offense his senior year.

the U fans are concerned about their OL protecting Kaaya, and the receivers getting open. Last week FAU was able to get a lot of pressure on him, and his receivers, for the most part, were not able to get open. I think Miami would love to run the ball down our throats, eat up the clock, and not have Kaaya in too may 3rd and longs. If we get him in that situation, with the speed of our DL and linebackers, we will make his life extremely difficult.

Nielson Ratings

Based on the first two weeks, this game should draw around 2 million viewers. There isn't much drop off from Gameday to the 12:00 Kick-off game on ESPN in either week, so it's safe to assume that those numbers will remain consistent and right around 2 million TV's will have the App State - Miami game on TV. Big moment for Boone.

A few posters on A-State nation unapologetically pulling for Miami here.

Meanwhile, GSUfans has an epic thread with 200+ posts debating whether or not we want App State to win.

50/50 on GSUfans about wanting App to win or lose. Huge thread indeed, haha. I said go App.

Epic seems like an understatement. I for one hope App dominates them.

Quite a few Southern fans seem to be pulling for App. It doesn't seem to be related to even disliking App as much as it is not liking the perception that you have fallen behind, much of that concern is likely due to scheduling.

I think the fans of any school pulling for a close loss fail to take into account that as far as rankings are concerned, a win is a win and a loss is no different no matter how close. Sure there is a slight perception boost but that only applies to all schools in the event that some actually win OOC games. Arkansas State fans are bitter because they can't win road OOC games and have looked terrible through two games this season and against La Tech last season.

Driving on 68 near Wendover through High Point on my lunch break I passed a car decked out in Miami gear.

Let the games begin...
