Although we must take one game at a time, EMU football must find a way to get to 5-6 wins this season. We have to find a way......If Creighton can do this, he'll help silence some critics and more importantly let recruits know that EMU Football is on an upswing.
I am ver high on Brogan Roback's physical abilities and if he plays today, I believe he'll take EMU a step closer towards the 5-6 win season.
Go E-Moo, go, go, E-Moo, E-Moo!
Let's roll EMU!!
I'm conflicted on this game.
IF Shaq had been able to play, I'd go with us. I think we'd have enough offense and defense.
W/out Shaq I'm not sure we have enough running attack.
It is much easier to defend Ian than Shaq.
That said, I was very happy with Shaq, Ian, and Robinson, who could be a secret weapon for us.
If the OL continues to be a strength and the play calling is good then the running game will be fine.
The best way to deflate an opponent and eliminate their home field advantage is to pummel them on the ground. I think emu is going to try to do that today. Just a hunch.

I'm just not convinced Ian is an every down back. Would you choose to play him on 3rd and 5?
I'd like to get some good discussion going about Robinson, how he is used in the offense, etc.
Ian is 5'10, 206, and Shaq is 5'10, 213. Their speed looks very similar. Is your question about him playing on 3rd and 5, because you think he's too small to get the tough yards, or because you don't think he's a receiving threat?
To say he's too small, they are almost the exact same size. As far as 'tough' yards, it's obvious from the way he runs that Ian actually breaks more tackles than Shaq. As far as receiving, watch any of his high school highlights and he was great out of the backfield on screens, swing passes, and wheel routes. He has very good hands if they choose to use him in the pass game.
I honestly don't expect a big drop off at all in the running game, as we await Shaq's return. The HUGE concern is durability.....for any back, on any team, really. I don't think either of these guys can make it through a full season as the primary back, carrying 20-25 times per game by himself. They are the perfect 1-2 punch to keep each other fresh and healthy.
Love Shaq, not knocking his talent or importance to this team one iota, absolutely hoping he gets back soon because we have very little room for error, and he is a really good back. I'm just saying from what we've seen, I think Ian is even better than most had imagined. Hoping Turner and Banham can split 10-15 effective carries per game to keep Ian healthy, and buy time till Shaq is back.
Agree this is a must win. Not going to totally give up on the season if we lose a tight one, but it would definitely be a huge step backwards. The team can't afford that physically or mentally right now.
