I like the idea of Major Applewhite. Have a tenacious Opie coach a team basically full of Opies.

At this point, only people scared of the academics wouldn't be interested. We have facilities on-par or better than other programs, an admin that shows they care for the program (by supporting that), and they will have the chance to markedly improve the current team and provide evidence that they are good. Plus they could be intrigued by the fact that Rice seems to be willing to give them time to succeed.

If a change is made at the end of the year, I would hope that we could keep on some of the staff like Coach Okam.

Of course. But why would that mean he wouldnt potentially be interested in this position?

I think he'd jump at the right opportunity. He's been an assistant for long enough. We'd have to at least match what he's making at UH. I'm sure that's over $1mil.

Perhaps we should resurrect the "Hire Fatfield" campaign of 2005?

Definitely agree on keeping Okam. Guy has a great rapport with players.

Major is not getting paid over $1 mil at UH. There are only five coordinators (including both defensive and offensive) in the SEC making over $1 million.

He's listed as making 300k (from 2015)

I remember this thoroughly! I was surprised people cared enough to form a movement with a slogan.

I get it. I chose to ignore it, as it doesn't work here.

I mean, why change the letters at all? Just Fire Bailiff. Gets the point across even better in case people think Failiff is a person.

Not sure why you felt the need to change the B to an F.

As it contains FAIL. Which is an apt description. Of his tenure here
