Charlotte started slow, but took care of business. Pulled the starters before the end of the 3rd. On to next week vs. Eastern Michigan.

RE: Game Thread: Elon @ Charlotte
Charlotte played without a few key starters including best OL Covington @ LT, and best DB Winchester. Not sure that excuses the horrific start that included allowing a 99 yard opening TD drive, and four consecutive three and outs on offense. To state it bluntly, the first quarter was one of the worst in program history. Louisville hangover?

Lucky to be down only 7-0, Niners rattled off 47 straight as they finally found rhythm in 2nd quarter, before Elon scored against the third string defense. QB Olsen, RB Phillips both nicked up, so lots of snaps for backups who played very well. 2TDs for four star back Washington. RB Lemay had some really strong runs including a 44 yarder on a TD drive, and backup QB Klugh had a dazzling 30+ yard TD run that unfortunately got called back.

Some highlights. First is the school newspaper, included because it does a decent if cheesy job of cutting press conference comments in between clips.

RE: Game Thread: Elon @ Charlotte
Once Olsen settled in he looked really good, that fade route to the back corner of the endzone was a thing of beauty. Our running game should be force to be reckoned with as there isn't any drop off when Washington or LeMay come in.

Big concern was lack of pressure from the D-line, we actually got more pressure during the Louisville game.

I did too. Lots of casual moral attitude girls from MD and NJ.

AUstin Duke's touchdown was so nice. Got through the crowd and just hit the jets.

He's the only guy I saw that could match Louisville's speed. If they could figure out a way to get him the ball in space, he'd be an amazing weapon.

Matt Johnson taking the ball to wildcat could also be an asset if they don't have him throwing short.
