Iowa St. vs. Iowa
42 - 3!!! It's all about the Proce$$!!! Hahahahaha!!!!! I'm sure MC is laughing all the way to the bank. Good for him and his family. That doesn't mean I can't hate him for being disingenous and giving Toledo players, family, alumni and fans a raw deal last year. My cousin knows MC personally and says that he's an arrogant prick!!!

Is that redundant or are those different?
Can we get a ruling?

Ironically, my cousin is a lawyer. He graduated from BGSU.

They are staring at a 3-10 season. And 3 wins aren't even guaranteed.

I think when your cousin told you he earned a law degree from BGSU, he was pulling your leg. Are you sure you believe him when he says he knows MC, too?

Too bad we don't play them this season in the Glass Bowl. If Candle leads the Rockets to the MACC and then wins (or even if he doesn't win it) then Matt Campbell becomes a minor footnote in the history of Toledo football with the win against Arkansas (and I suppose going 3-0 against BGSU) being the highlights of that footnote coaching career. The 0-3 against NIU partially offsets the BGSUcks record.

In my book, Campbell is already a minor footnote in the history of Toledo football.

campbell and his staff really did a good job building a culture of hard work, fun and responsibility in the program. beckman changed the program around at a key time and campbell solidified the academic focus, team camaraderie and fundamentals. i also give the staff credit. the players have really liked the assistants under campbell and candle. my hunch is candle may be the better leader of the 3 (beckman has already shown his weaknesses, campbell revealed some aspects of his character with how he left, but candle remains a constant at UT as both an offensive mind, recruiter and player's coach). Campbell seems to have the least ego and manufactured persona of the 3 and has learned from the strengths and weaknesses of his predecessors. the program is in a really good place - talent, coaching, development, fans, stadium, schedule- all strong.

I think you meant to start that last sentence off referring to Candle - right? If not, you just messed up your credibility and I'm going to have to take a knee instead of standing at attention every time you post.

I do. But my eyesight is getting so bad that I need to sit back down to read them. I probably need to get glasses at some point.

Matt Campbell did a good job at UT. Bottom line was that Jason Candle was the the best recruiter and ran the offense. That being said Matt Campbell left for a dead end job, will make a lot of money, and later in life he will regret this decision. Iowa State is a loser through and through. They get 60k per game because there is nothing else to do in Iowa! He will be gone in two years! If he stayed at UT he could have had an SEC or BIG Ten Job or stayed at UT and made an measly $600,000 per year. Now that he left he will never have a legacy. Mark my words! And I liked the guy.

Or, and I'm just spitballing here, he understands he's young enough to take on a significant challenge at a place where modest success is lauded and you don't face the same level of insane scrutiny you find in those other conferences you mentioned...and even if he doesn't succeed, no one will hold it against him because it's Iowa State.
Regardless, move along people...nothing to see here.

I find it hard to imagine any one on this board would say no to a 1.5 million dollar pay raise.
Even the dead horse has left the building.

I believe the difference was closer to $659,000-$700,000. Remember, UT was willing to make Campbell the highest paid MAC FB HC.

The dead horse forgot there are classy ways to leave and not so classy ways. The dead horse forgot he was still supposed to upkeep one house while he was shopping for another.
