Who wanted the new coordinators?
Get rid of Bob Cole. Get rid of D co-ord. We are worse off than before.
Yeeesh!

Yeeesh!
It doesn't matter as long as Rod is at the helm. The players clearly have no desire to play for him. On paper this team is pretty talented, but I don't think I've seen an NIU team as soft as this since I started in 2006.

Again, the players choose the combo and adidas provides them. The coaching staff had NOTHING to do with uniforms. Which are awesome uniforms by the way.

Our defensive coordinator was good. He left because he saw the program going downhill. Why else go to Rutgers??

I couldnt stand bob cole and he would have sucked just as bad as what we are doing now. D coordinator prob should have been our HC. Not kidding.

I wanted a new OC. I didn't want a new OC that uses the old OC's playbook he left on his desk.

RE: Who wanted the new coordinators?
The problem is obvious. After Doeren left us in the Orange Bowl and Carey didn't embarrass the program in the game, the interim tag came off. It was cheaper than doing a HC search and the players liked him.
The problem is that he's not very good. He's had huge emotional outbursts that are not befitting of a HC. I was in the camp to get rid of Bob Cole and good riddance, but until we go out there and spend more money on a top tier MAC head coach (IE Fleck money), you will have horrible coaching.
How often are we ill prepared against the opponent, how often do we make good changes going into the 2nd half, how often are we hammered in bowl games. Enough is enough.

RE: Who wanted the new coordinators?
There are plenty of good FCS coaches that want a chance to go to a FBS school. It's where we got Kill. It's sad to think that Carey was put in place after the Orange Bowl. That was a little short sided. Maybe that is hind sight too. Oh well.

I also think we are seeing the typical “growing pains” with the new coordinators; this is typical with coaches that are new to being a coordinator. Whether either or both were a good choice remains to be seen. However, we should give them a chance.

without making excuses, as I look back on these 2 games, the playing environment for the first 2 road game was quite difficult, much more so than I thought. It did affect things.

RE: Who wanted the new coordinators?
We can't run the ball yet we keep trying. How many times do we have to see third and long? Get the passing game going first with high percentage passes to set up the long pass. Graham looks like he's improved a bunch since last year. I'd much rather see Hare throw it 40 times but that's impossible now so Graham it is. Hare was great avoiding the ints. Hopefully Graham can perform just as well. Just give him a chance to win the game for us. Running the ball will be a lot easier if the opposition knows we can sting them with the pass. Give our QB a chance to win the game with his arm. I would like to see it just once. Especially when our defense has been so atrocious. Throw a lot of high percentage passes against SDSU and set up the bombs. Throw in the draws and spread option to surprise them.

he probably has 350,000 more reasons every year. Plus bigger and better competition, P5, same reason everyone takes promotions.
Bob Cole was so good he was picked up by .......................no one

That requires $$$$$ and donors, big donors help. This is the MAC it will always be a stepping stone to a P5 job(coach or coordinator)

I was wrong Niemann made $163k last year at NIU and will make $450k/year on a 2 year deal... so 287,000/year to leave NIU
