Hawaii coach had high praise for Michigan, said best defense he ever coached against, better than 08' Gators. Amazing how much Michigan football I have not watched over the last 5 plus years. In the late 80's through the 90's up to about 10 years ago Michigan was a team I followed.

Looks like they will be really good.

Hawaii's play-by-play announcer said basically the same thing on his radio show this morning. He claimed it was the best defense he'd ever seen the Warriors play against and he's been calling their games for two decades.

Of course Hawaii's offense isn't exactly a juggernaut to begin with, but it does have a solid O-line and good running backs and produced 400+ yards and 31 points the week before against Cal. Against Michigan there was no ability to generate a ground game at all. It was like watching guys run into a wall again and again.

Recruit more Mexican players.

This joke is tasteless, but too funny not to post.

My father in law is a Michigan alum and ex player and he has been going on and on about how good this team is.

I can believe it.

That is interesting. Hawaii generated lots of O vs. Cal. I watched the first half.

RE: Michigan
Michigan has an outstanding new defensive coordinator this year in Don Brown. Everywhere he's gone has had one of the top defenses in the nation while there (even if the rest of the team was really bad, like BC last year).

He was UMass's defensive coordinator back when Whipple took the team to a national championship in 1998, and then took over in the mid 2000s and took the team back to the national championship where we lost to App State. Had we moved up before he left to be Maryland's DC we would have been in a much better state and made a much better transition than we had.

I'm very happy to see him succeeding again and at a big school like Michigan. Only wish good will on that man.

Just goes to show the golden rule in CFB: if you have unlimited money, you should eventually be able to buy a coach who has all the right connections, relationships, and even intuition, that's needed to win it all.

Alabama - Saban
Ohio St - Meyer
Michigan - Harbaugh

etc

He would've been a fantastic hire for a G5 school after last season, he has the track record as a coordinator and HC to do a great job in FBS but flew way under the radar because he was at BC. After this season he'll be in a great position to move on to a great program now that the spotlight is on him, whichever school hires him will be very happy.

Of course, the list of teams that have scored 30+ against a Sonny Dykes-coached team is a very long list. 03-banghead

It's the only "L" I have written in PEN this year for PSU.

We'll have our hands full with Pitt, Iowa, MSU, and OSU...and might even lose all four of those...but I can see scenarios where we might beat each of them. Not scUM though. They'll crush us in Ann Arbor.

Exactly

They are living off of expectations of their coach

Let's see them beat a real team. They don't even leave their home stadium till October

Michigan Wolverines... the perennial home of September Heisman Trophy winners.

I read the book Great Expectations when i was in high school in michigan.... It sucked then as do Michigan's wet dreams now.

GO STATE!

It's not really Harbaugh's doing so much. Michigan when being sub-par and their coach getting fired to hire Harbaugh, they still had a Very Tough D. Just their O couldn't go anywhere.
