RE: AAC ...be aggressive...be be aggressive
Amherst isn't much further to Boston than DeKalb is from Chicago. Plus UMass is the number one state school and have a higher academic rating. Wonder which school the presidents will go for?
Why did Marshall and UCF get into C-USA over Northern Illinois?
I'm just being objective, no need for personal attacks.

Boise State was invited to the Big East for FB Only.
The AAC looks for TV market, attendance, performance. Then academics if all things are considered even.

Why in the hell would anyone outside of FCS want to join CUSA right now?

Marshall has had success in football, no brainier

N. Illinois, App St, VCU

App St has proven at every level so far.
VCU is recognizable sports brand.

Arguably best football programs from CUSA, MAC, Sun Belt
Arguably best basketball teams from their respective conferences.
Beat MWC to best Texas markets
None of these schools you mentioned is the state flagship institute. AAC should focus on the state flagships like Delaware, Maine, North Dakota, South Dakota, UMass etc to pair with UConn.

I'm talking about when the invites were initiated. Nobody even mentioned Northern Illinois. Now they get blown out in the Orange Bowl and lose to Wyoming and we're supposed to buy into them?

Marshall received a FB invite when the conference was still intact.

Yeah, and UConn is in both NYC and Boston. We'd probably be #2 to Rutgers, who might be in both NYC and Philadelphia.

UConn won't be there anymore, so you can pick whoever you want. UMass might well be a good choice, the others aren't FBS.

Plus having never lost to Army we can offer some handy helpful tips to you guys on that.
Hold on a minute, I've just been handed a note...
Ok, never mind.

My grandma taught Spanish at Rice, so I'm hoping they'll get the American or somehow, Big 12 invite. It's a wonderful school, students are great and it's a lot of fun. Army I think can compete in The American as a football-only member.

Yes I'd like to see us go B12 also.
Most likely scenario of that:
B12 to all 11 applicant/finalists: "You're all in. Iowa State will be sticking around to babysit and make it an even 12 (finally). The rest of us are outta here."
