Down 28-24 with 13 minutes left. This is making me feel much better about our performance in the first week.

I watched the Pitt - Penn State game. Pitt is damn good. Narduzzi has that team reborn. I fear he might be the one that got away 4 years back.

UT has looked good since looking disinterested and down 14 in the first quarter. Not sold on their QB though. This one could tighten up.

Narduzzi is definitely the one that got away, I agree.

Eh... I like Narduzzi so don't get me wrong.

There was no way he was:
(a) coming to Cincinnati without the Power conference affiliation, and
(b) Staying in Cincinnati long-term

He bided his time until Pitt, an ACC team, came offering.
I think he will be at Pitt a max of 3 or so more years (assuming success) and then he'll be off to a major B10 gig. Something like Ohio State or Michigan or even Penn State.

I really doubt Pitt holds onto him over the long haul.

So, while he may indeed "be the one that got away," I don't think so and the damage on any missed opportunity is slight.

If we had more of the type of "damage" that Dantonio and Kelly brought to our program during their 3-and-out tenures, I'd be happy as a clam.

Big 12 not so spectacular this week.

0-5 against the P5
0-2 against the MAC
WVU struggled against FCS Youngstown State

If added UC would be respectable in the conference right away.

Yeah, but Hawai'i is almost certainly THE worst FBS program.

They need to put that program out of it's misery.

UConn and Bob Diaco really blew the Navy game. Horrible clock management.

Great win by FCS Illinois St over Northwestern. First in school history. They went to the FCS title game last year. My son is a senior there and played with a couple of the ISU players on their HS state champion team.

There was a lot of pressure on their kicker. Down 1 with the game winner. He had missed the PAT and a FG earlier or it wouldn't have come down to that. ISU generally outplayed NW the entire game.

The VTech UT game could have been closer...but those pesky fumbles by VT has kept UT in this game.

I've always liked Narduzzi, but I wont be surprised if he jumps again in the off-season. The rumor has been out there since last year that he's looking for "bigger and better" things if the opportunity presents itself. Same thing would happen if he were at UC.

Tennessee dominated VT after the 1st quarter. Athletically, the two teams, honestly weren't close. I will say this though, if Butch ends up underachieving and losing his job eventually it will all be because of Don Mahoney. He's upgraded his staff everywhere else, but he is crazy for keeping that guy around. Absolutely worst OL coach in the country. Have thought so for the last 6-7 years.
