Strange clip. Can't tell much though because I don't know what the conversation he was having was about. It well could have been a conversation about religion or atheism and he just injected the Radcliffe thing. Certainly looked awkward in the context of that vid. Kasich's public record speaks for itself. He is pretty popular in Ohio. Evidently he is pretty sane also.

Maybe I just heard him different..but..It sounded like he thought if you are a celebrity you might want to keep this type of information to yourself...not go public with it. Could be wrong though.

so either he is questioning someone's religious preferences in general or he is saying that one particular preference is inferior and should be kept hidden?

either option is still incredibly bigoted.
Again...Without the context of the discussion?...I cant say what that was about. Not an issue anyway. Regardless....I'd take Kasich over these other two dimwits any day.

the context is pretty clear to me. it takes some very unreasonable assumptions to try to find a legitimate context to that

Like I said...I could be wrong. Ive seen too many of these "gotcha" clips that turn out to be out of context to be sold on this completely. You are free to believe he is the devil if that suits you John. Im cool with that too.
RE: John Kasich thinks it’s “weird” that Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) is an atheist.
Actually I think it makes a lot of sense for a celebrity to keep their religious views private (and thoughts about other religions). Why risk alienating any group of people who are considering whether to spend their hard earning money on your movie or merchandise? If I am Radcliffe I want every Atheist, Christian, Jew, Muslim, Hindu, etc. on the planet to spend their cash on me.

do you really think he would say the same thing regarding "did you you X is christian" or "did you you X is jewish?"

Let's take a look at his comment: "You know that Daniel Radcliffe has declared himself an atheist? I’m serious. What a weird thing. Why would a guy who has had all that success just, I mean, what the hell is wrong with him?”
Let's assume Daniel Radcliffe came out as a "Born-Again Christian" or converted to Judiasm. Kasich might not say it but I am willing to bet someone would say the same thing and I would agree with them. By taking the religious stance there will be a percentage of people who will no longer go to that celebrities movies.

Yes. One oddball quip from an awkward conversation about something no one can really discern from a 28 second utube and he's a "proven bigot".
You let your panties get all a-twisty over something as mundane as this?
Go outside, get a breath of air, take a lap and come back and talk to us. Good grief.

how could this possibly be a gotcha setup?
There could have been additional footage before and after this clip edited out. It would not be the first time.

you just have your head in the ground. banking on assumptions and mental gymnastics trying to defend it.
it's quite obvious that he thinks: "wow this guy found success in life, what kind of person doesn't become a believer in god after finding success? how is that possible?"

and what could that footage possibly contain that would let him off the hook. in this vid he very clearly starts the topic.
