Go back and Google a hit on Case Keenum from last November if you want to see an even more flagrant example where a QB was allowed to stay in a game.

As a Bronco fan, I cringed a bunch watching Newton get hit. The final one - Darrian Stewart - I thought should've been an ejection, and I'd imagine will wind up resulting in a hefty fine. The previous ones I thought were more incidental, but can understand a differing interpretation, especially in light of the final one.
