Wink OT: Toledo players had money, wallets and other items stolen at Ark State during game
How could a university not have proper security to protect the opposing teams valuables during a game at their stadium. I have heard of this happening at a high school, but never at a Div 1 universtiy. Shame on ASU for letting this happen. I hope they catch the thief and the Toledo players get their valuables back.

Not the first time it's happened here. Same thing happened to our Dance Team 2 weeks earlier during a Fall Scrimmage.

Thing is, locker rooms are kept locked at all times when they are not in use per University Policy. There should be an extremely limited number of people with access to it. If I was to hazard a guess, the culprit is one of two people

1. A Toledo student manager
2. Someone has managed to make an extra copy of the keys to the locker rooms here. Likely a manager on the AState end.

Since I doubt very much that the Toledo manager robbed your dance team I'm going with option 2. There should be a freakin guard posted anyway checking and logging credentials of anyone going in during game time. At the very least warn opposing teams to post their own security on the door.

When it turns out to be somebody with the Toledo team is the burglar, I won't be surprised.

The way our facility is set up, the only way you can access the visiting Locker Room is from the field. There's no way to access the Locker Room from the Athletic facility itself. That's why it's such a limited group who can get in there. Random people would have to sneak past a security guard, and literally cross the field of play, or jump a very high fence in an area where people commonly stand to watch a game.

Even doing that, there'd still be no way to get out from there.

That's why we're not sure the 2 incidents are related. The Dance team use a different locker facility from everyone else obviously, and it happened during a Fall Scrimmage, where there was limited security and few fans around. Plenty of opportunity. This one happened on a Friday Night, during a game, with 27,000 plus fans in attendance. Unless you worked for Toledo, it would be pretty obvious that someone was getting into an area they weren't supposed to be.

Many years ago (mid 2000s) I remember USM having the same thing happen to them at UL Lafayette. The crook tried it again a few weeks later and got caught. I can't remember the whole story but the crook had got in the locker room through the ceiling tiles
