Rice hosts cross-country Friday, September 9
Women race 4K at 6:15; men a 6K at 6:45. It's a very low-key meet, but the only time all season to watch them at home.
Both races will be on the fields just north of the Shepherd School.
Rice women are ranked #3 in the NCAA South Central Region, while the men start the season at #11.

Do any freshmen have chances to break into the top 5 for either team?

Khayla Patel (Spring Branch Memorial) will be among the top 5 women. It's too early to tell for the men.

Can you post a map or diagram of the Men's and Women's routing?

If I had one, I would. I'm guessing that it won't exist until tomorrow.

Rice women win easily, with Abigail Cartwright winning, and Katie Jensen finishing 2nd. Cali Roper was 5th, Khayla Patel 9th, and Hannah Kay 20th. Elsa Racasan was held out, as she is going to ease back in after a busy summer of international competition.
Rice 31, SFA 78, Houston 106
The Rice men, still not at full strength, finished 5th.

Thanks for the update as the short-handed Rice SID staff probably won't update the riceowls web site for awhile with the results.
Roper 5th? There has to be a story there.

Do you have a link to the overall results? I know at least two runners at U of H and would like to see how they did.
Edit - Never mind, found the results
P.S. to WRC - I was at a meet this morning in San Antonio, and the right team won with 20 points ;-)
