Don't include Rhode Island in that group. That's a solid game. Albany finished 109 in the RPI last year. As buy games go that's solid. Brown, Samford, Lipscomb and Fairleigh Dickinson are the kind of teams you want to avoid on the schedule at all costs. At least Brown was from the Naismith classic...can't do anything about that. Wish we had a few less really low teams, but honestly UC has done better with those kind of games over the last few years.

So.... The remodel is now set for 2017? (I thought it was set for this season...)

Farleigh Dickinson made the tournament last year and I think returns all or almost all of their starters, so they should have decent computer numbers.

The complete remodel was always set for 17-18. But they have added additional suite seating under the UCAT lounge that will be ready for this season.

RE: UC Basketball 2016-17 Schedule Announced
Rhode Island is preseason top 25 on some lists

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketb...e-movement

If we play Duke , there are 8 games with teams on that list including the others. (Iowa St , SMU)

Yeah the Nov/Dec home slate isn't thrilling .

They play at Fifth Third this year , renovation starts after the season as announced several months ago .

Don't get the reasoning behind the Championship Game being at 1:00 on ESPN2 with the 3rd place being on ESPN after.

Duke doesn't deserve that kind of disrespect.

Fair enough! 04-cheers URI just didn't excite me though seeing as they barely had a winning record last season, at 17 - 15. I was basically just listing our whole OOC schedule minus Eggs, Duke/PSU, and Marshall... I admit, I have a soft spot for Marshall.

Every damn year, I think to myself that it just seems like two too many cupcakes on the schedule. I'm not asking to play UK, why not just schedule a home and home with a mid level P5 or Big East team.

I may be wrong Mark but I think the Albany game is also part of the Naismith Classic.

Rhode Island was arguably the least lucky team in the nation on the injury front last year. They are loaded assuming they are healthy and are right there in the top 25 mix. That's basically a PK'em game as of today.

Yep. I am definitely nervous about that one. I know some are raving about our team already based on some practice reports, but this team is not very deep and we need Washington to replace Ellis' and Deberry's production.

Michigan bailing hurt some. I know all the reasons why it's difficult, but I think they have to find a way to do more OOC for as long as we're in the AAC.

RE: UC Basketball 2016-17 Schedule Announced
Wow, I certainly don't get the animosity towards the non-conference schedule. Duke, Iowa St, Xavier, Butler, and Rhode Island. That's 5 solid games. And as was pointed out, Farleigh Dickinson more than likely will be a top 100 game. Frankly I don't want more than that. There is no style points for losing games to a good team so its better to rack up wins than fill the entire slate playing top 25 teams and losing half of them.

Duke is not a guarantee. That's a possibility

I think you are correct, but since Albany is not traveling to play Duke, I'm not 100% sure how that affects their status as part of the Naismith Classic Field.
