Parking for the Kansas game
To All the people going to the Kansas Football game at the Liberty Bowl. Be warned the Cooper-Young Festival is also that weekend. Parking will be a nightmare.

RE: Parking for the Kansas game
Parking should still be plentiful across the street from the LB to the west in Cooper-Young. Just get there a bit earlier. Traffic should be a nightmare.

Parking for the Liberty Bowl is far better than any other stadium I have ever visited. It is that way during Cooper Young Festival, it was that way for the fair game, there is plenty of affordable parking close to the stadium, it just might be a different place than you parked last game

With a Tan Lot parking pass, I can't imagine it will be any worse than usual (which wasn't bad at all on Saturday.)

The 11AM start time will surely help the parking situation. Most people won't be heading to Cooper Young Festival until after the game starts.

First time in the Tan lot ... is the only way in/out of that lot that one opening from the main entrance to the MSC off of Southern ? If so, exiting that lot back onto the main exit out of the MSC heading south to a left turn onto Southern is ridiculous. You have to wait for someone to let you into the left turn lane from other lots exiting further north past the MSC and fairgrounds ... or am I missing something ?

Only those waiting till the last minute will run into traffic and parking issues. Get thee before 9am and you'll be fine.

If everyone would commit to tailgating an hour or two after the game, people would trickle out at a comfortable pace. That's what we do, I don't care WHAT the game-time is.

Outside of a few instances, exiting Tiger Lane after a game is pretty painless. Considering how many people are trying to get out, they do a pretty good job. Go to a game at UT, Oxford, Starkville, or Legion Field to see what a clusterf... truly looks like.

Been to a couple Memphis v. State in Starkville. We sat in our van for about 2 hours after a game watching a poor little girl try to direct traffic. After about an hour and a half, she threw her little flashlight cones against the curb and stormed off. We just continued to sit there until it thinned out. I'm not gonna try and win a race to get home.

Very few. We cut through Flicker on our way to Tiger Lane and there are a handful of tailgate crews over there still (most are right on Central).

Maybe not. Right now, Tiger Lane spots are north of $400 per season. Purple lot (under the old Liberty Land trees) passes are more expensive. If the team continues to improve, and demand increases, prices may force a lot of people back to Tobey.

I just forced my way into it. There are inevitably gaps as it comes to a standstill. Eventually someone will let you in. It was less than 2 minutes from the time I started the ignition until I was headed East on Southern.

Wow. I forgot about the festival. Damn, there might be close to 200,000 in that one part of town. Nightmare indeed.

You may not have to worry about prices going up now that we are not in consideration for a Big12 invite

The bulk of people heading to C-Y will be doing so while the game is going on, though. The festival doesn't even open until 10 am usually.

However, if we drill Kansas, CY might get overrun with some happy Tiger fans that afternoon, only adding to the crazy crowds.
