They have given him 3 stars.

It looks like they are saying Rykhoek is 3 stars in this link.

From what I can tell.

Yup.

Apparently he was 2nd team all church league last year in the 40 year old and younger division. Averaged 11 and 6 leading the Tex's Auto Sales team to a league runner-up finish. Finished 3rd on his team in scoring behind Warren Metcalf, a bond trader for Merril Lynch, and Perry Taylor, a former Division III football player at Trinity who now works at Kirklands as shift supervisor.

Just hopes the guys gets it all straighten out and becomes a Tiger officially. It is embarrassing to be out recruited by Grand Canyon University.

Jason Smith still thinks this will happen.

Like others have alluded to, sounds like red tape holdups.

Grand Canyon has Dan Majerle as the head coach. It has recently moved up to D1 and is a private school with a benefactor and a nice budget. He's building a monster. <trademark infringement> We should still be out-recruiting them.

@TheCAJasonSmith I still think they'll add the big Egyptian kid, putting them at 11 scholarship players for the season.

RE: Azab - Is He a Tiger?
Our commuter school mission may actually work in our favor.

As I now understand ... in catering to commuter students the University offers the option getting a full semester in half the time. Classes are twice as long and the load can be challenging, but it can be done. I think that starts around the 1st of October, and it gives us an option to add a player late.

Interesting.

This is why we aren't on the Big XII's list

The done deal/18 month ago crowd was right, just on the wrong side.

Anyone who thinks the B12 just now figured out Memphis' academics or demographics is outta their mind.

Interesting though - it basically means that since the day Tubby was hired, he and his staff will have had 6 months to add players. Half a year. That is an eternity in this era of social media and instant communication and things like that.

Our local community college offers the same thing. Guess that spells it out.

Sounds like he will be a Tiger if cleared...when he's eligible to play may be another question entirely.

As the old saying goes " Make hay while the sun shines". Should have spent the last 6 months using the potential Big XII entry to your advantage while you could. Now that little carrot for recruits is no longer available.
