Very Tiger Related-Look for Miss Tennessee to be in the Top 5 tonight @ Miss America
Miss Tennessee won the preliminaries Tuesday night, and won the talent on Wednesday night in Atlantic City @ Miss America. Look for Senior Tiger Grace Burgess in the Top 5 tonight representing the U of M. This comes exactly 30 years after our last Tiger took the crown Kelly Cash. I know its not football or basketball championships, but we'll take any winner we can get. Good luck tonight Grace and represent our university well.

The countdown is on to see who will be crowned Miss America with the beauty pageant taking place this Sunday at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall.
Fifty-two young women between the ages of 17 and 24 from across the United States will compete for the coveted title, and the oddsmakers at Bovada seem to have a tough time choosing just one standout competitor.
Five contestants are favored to win the title, with Miss Alabama, Arkansas, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee all sitting at the top of the board with +1200 odds.
If Grace Burgess wins, she will be the third U of M/Memphis State student to win the Miss America title. Lambda Chi Alpha Memphis Chapter Sweetheart Barbara Walker was Miss America in 1947.

A retroactive moment of fame for me - we shared a class at Memphis and I asked her out. She turned me down nicer than any girl ever had before and that was a long list. lol

Right off the bat....out of the 15 finalists......Alabama and Ohio....are not there. So, the odds makers are off right away since two of the supposed favorites did not make the top 15. Tennessee however...is in the Top 15. On pure beauty...I am kind of liking Miss South Carolina.
