Rumors
It's amazing how we're less than 1 week into the football season and the rumors are flying.

Down here in South Louisiana the "Fire Les Miles" crowd is vocal and gaining momentum. I've also heard how Herman will be LSU's next coach. We all know how a successful G5 coach is a hot commodity. My response is that he just signed a 3 Million/Year contract several months ago. Of course it goes on deaf ears....

It's only week one....can't wait till week 2....

We're used to it.

We'll have to put them into a battle royal with Baylor fans.

Les Miles is a good coach. What they need is a QB.

RE: Rumors
LSU needs to take a lesson from UT and find an OC from the Briles tree.
That O is unstoppable with the right talent. And the QB only makes reads presnap. Usually the QB does not need to go through progressions so it makes it simpler with less mistakes. It is also a run based O. And that is where LSU excels.
Blue bloods are so stubborn. They think they all can effectively run the pro-style. One can...Alabama. The rest look pretty bad. It is why college is better than pros. Move offensive diversity.

RE: Rumors
Herman has positioned his program to legitimately have as good of an opportunity to win at the highest level as anyone else in the country this year. We need help to get there, but we also don't have Bama standing in our way from getting there. His salary at this point is essentially a blank check signed by Tilman Fertitta. Herman also stands to make an extra $5 million in the event we are invited to a P5.

Why give all that up to go to a place where you're on the hot seat if you go 10-2? Herman is a pragmatist. Just because a bunch of bitchy LSU fans say he'll be their next coach doesn't make it true. Their whole "Go get Herman" or "Go get so and so" mentality is so cringe worthy -- as if Herman or whoever else is a commodity to which they are entitled.

Hermans name is going to be tied to every significant P5 program that gets off to a slow start, that should hardly be considered news.

All LSU needed was a decent spread offensive coordinator. Can anyone tell me when Cam Cameron has ever done anything of significance? Pro offense in college, what a terrible idea. I went to an NCSU game when he was head coach at Indiana, and that idiot moved Randle El to WR, they were completely dysfunctional.

If Houston stays at the G5 level when the B-12 realignment is over (aka they are passed over for BYU and Cinn) then Herman's pay remains at what -3 million and it is easier to buy it out by the money printing P5 schools. A lot of ifs in the fish barrel to shoot at until the B-12 realignment gig is over. Good luck on the expansion issue and keeping Herman though. There are a lot of Fertitta's at a lot of big name universities with big wallets too. 07-coffee3

I can't find it now, but ESPN did a "surprising" predictions article, where they predicted LSU would hire Herman by end of this season.

His best stent was his 4 years as OC with the Baltimore Ravens, but yeah, I agree Cameron is one of those classic football retreads who always seems to get a gig.

If I were Herman, making good money with a team I know I can win with where I am a local hero, I would never in a million years consider a job where the fan base is trying to run out a guy with a 112–33 record.

He can stay at Houston make $$$ and never be in jeopardy of being fired ever. That security would last until week 10 in the SEC.

Impressed with Herman and his loyalty. IMO there is only a small handful of programs that could pry him away now.

USC
Stanford -long shot
Texas
OK
Michigan
OSU
LSU
Bama
FlaState
Clemson

And a guy who won a national title with Matt Flynn as his qb.
I get it, they haven't won a title since then, but LSU is relevant every year. The OC can be fixed, but no need to get rid of miles.

I think Texas or Ohio State would be most likely, so it would be in Houston's best interest for Strong and Meyer to stay employed.

Strong just got carried off the field by his players. Unlikely that he is going anywhere.

That's crazy... Some programs deserve zero sympathy.

And for a totally different perspective, you have South Carolina slinging the sour grapes, claiming that since Texas beat ND and Herman wanted to coach there at UT so badly, that now Herman is "stuck" at UH for a long time.

Dear lordamighty, listening to some people try to use logic... they need to just stick to playing pokemon go.

Herman will be stuck at UH for a very long time.
