Let's pump the brakes here for a moment shall we? Yes, Davis is a really good WR, we are lucky to have him and we had a great win this weekend but this isn't realistic.

He needs 1200 yards to become the all-time leading receiver in yards, not bad for a kid with no college offers.

good to see the program promoting one of our best. may be a looooong shot at Heisman but when has Western ever had anyone close to consideration for the Heisman? Might as well pump him up while he's here. He would've helped the cause had he held on to the pass in the back of the end-zone early in the game. would've finished with 8 catches, about 100yds and a TD. 7/70/0 is much less Heisman worthy in what may have been the toughest opponent on the schedule.

Good points, however, I would disagree about NU being the the "toughest" opponent on WMU's schedule.

NIU has been the best D-I football program in the State of Illinois for many years now. Also, Georgia Southern is for real and will be a much tougher test than NU. Fortunately, it is at home.

The Pig 10 is over-hyped, over-rated, and over-priced.

GO MAC!

Heisman Trophy winners dominate games, which Davis did not do Saturday.

Of course it's tough for Receivers to do without outstanding QB, which is why Receivers rarely win the award unless they are also great Kick Returners such as Tim Brown or Desmond Howard.

Agreed!
You forgot about Toledo tho.

GA Southern scares me.

The ONLY thing I worry about with this... is that at some point it might start to creep into Corey's mind... and then he starts to press a bit... trying to do too many things... Takes him out of his element...

NU -- last year, they weren't better than NIU. NU was vulnerable but squeezed out wins (10) -- including Stanford. Their D would keep them in games, even though they weren't as good (ie more vulnerable) as their record indicated. And this year, after NIU lost to Wyoming, and we have NIU at home -- it's safe to say by default at this point (time will tell), that NU would be a tougher game.

But with GA-Southern, Toledo, and @Illinois-on-the-rise[?] -- we shall see who'll be the toughest opponent. May not turn out to be NU, but any claim they make like that after Week 1 is usually treated with an "*Going by assumption"

RE: Coreydavis84heisman.com
Corey will be fine. I think he ran into the goal post on the missed touchdown, and tried to hide he got nicked up in the process. Nice reception to burn clock at the end. Some nice decoy and blocking work. We gave the TE one of Corey's reps and it worked.

We need to know we are a team. Mix it up. Corey will get his moments. They didn't really feature him that much at NU.
