Position battles all over the field? That just sounds like Carey threatening the players in an attempt to improve their attitude/work ethic. I guess in a way it makes sense, if you're gonna take the field and half-ass it then just sit on the bench. At the same time we shouldn't even be in this position at all, Carey should be able to command enough respect and be able to motivate the players.

Great job by frazier for scheduling a game at 9:30pm central. This guy thinks he is gonna be at somewhere big? Should have hauled the kids back to the hotel after the first delay min. Maybe have delayed the game for Sunday. NO EXCUSES!

Coach Carey who we are stuck with for another year min needs to fix the kicking game immediately. Then get the line going which is what he is supposedly good at. All fixable things. I still expect NIU to win 8 games, I hope he gets them together.

Not sure this would have made a difference, but NIU did not arrive in Cheyenne, WY until after 7pm local time on Friday night.

Just a thought, but wouldnt it have made sense to get into town on Thursday to try and get used to the altitude in some capacity other than in warm-ups? I understand extra money for hotels and meals, but if you want to be a big boy you need to do things like that.

My guess is Carey is only here due to the cost to buy him out. If the situation with the players was/ is really that bad that is the only logical explanation.

With altitude, you should either show up long in advance of an event to adapt or show up the day before. In between ranges between pointless to actually detrimental.

Carey can be an ass with no respect...He doesnt respect himself because he should of not been given the job by Jiff, who by the way signed us up for this stupid game and then STF gave the okay for 9:30 start time. STF needs to go cut his teeth at a EIU or something before coming up here and acting like it was a big deal to get SDSU to come here, we have had much bigger teams signed up pal.

STF are you building season ticket holders with this circus show? How is that community out reach program going. Im not looking forward to giving away cans of beans for a ticket to the game. I think we are headed back that direction.

That's not Frazier or NIU's decision to make. They don't have a say in what time that game is played.

I mean the schedule he has set up for us has been pretty good. He's getting teams to come play in DeKalb and our opponents the next few seasons are perfect to show how far the program has come...as long as we win of course.

He didnt schedule Wyoming but he did okay a 9:30 start central time. Really really stupid. Also we used to have big schools come to dekalb....SFT cant get them says we are too good. Also wont have a big game in Dekalb only chicago. Sad

That's not Frazier or NIU's decision to make. They don't have a say in what time that game is played.

So they sign away the rights to the time now too? That wasn't always the case. most of the time you negotate for a time it is played, very stupid to play games at 11am or 9:30pm.

Also if a game is delayed you can reschedule, Toledo it last year at Halftime vs Stoneybrook. Frazier let this one go sorry Frazier fans I wish we had a guy who actually delt with a D-1 program before not just Hockey and women's volleyball. SMH

Someone posted that is the price for another team to take him, which isn't going to happen. I think he is owed the rest of his contract if he is fired.

I'd gladly offer him to any school looking for a head coach and agree to no buyout. Whatever school wants him can take him off our hands for free. We lucked out with that happening with Jiff, maybe lightning will strike twice.

People complaining about SF is beyond me. Didnt we just have a thread about being pissed he was leaving and not being loyal to NIU? Now you guys are shitting on him for a crap job by Carey?

MW media picked the game time and both schools accepted the time for tv exposure. 830 mw time is not horrible if it wasnt for the weather.

Was it football related or off the field issues on why they were mad at Carey?

It really does not matter to me why. If Carey did/said something that resulted in every one of the about 100 players agreeing to and actually walking out, then Carey should not be our HC IMO period, end of story! Something that bad is not forgotten or forgiven! If this is true, then I do blame STF for not taking definitive action by firing Carey before the bowl game, let alone having him return as the HC!

8:30 MW time is 9:30 central and horrible for a game when you practice all week from 3-6!!! Also I dont care if he leaves, fine by me, we need another Phillips who is less political. TV exposure I would love to see who watched our game.

Poor AD job by Frazier and way to cow tow to the network the MW set us up and the kids for failure. Frazier didnt do what Toledo did last year and use your balls to say hey were done.

Also there was no way in hell Frazier was getting the Mizzu job or any of these jobs I hear about. Sad
