First week Walter Camp National Offensive Player - Jackson
From Louisville Courier Journal --

Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson was named Sunday as the season's first Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week following a performance in which he was responsible for a school-record eight touchdowns in the first half of a 70-14 victory over Charlotte.

Jackson, a sophomore, tied U of L's single-game record by throwing for six touchdowns, and he ran for two more while helping the Cardinals build a 56-0 halftime lead on Thursday. He sat out the second half. Jackson and Rice quarterback Chase Clement in 2007 are the only players to have thrown for six touchdowns and run for two in a game in the last 20 years, according to ESPN, and only Jackson did it in a single half.

Jackson completed 17 of 23 passes for 286 yards and ran 11 times for 119 yards.

The Walter Camp Football Foundation honors one offensive and one defensive player from the NCAA Division I FBS as its national player of the week during the regular season. Recipients are selected by a panel of national media members and administered by the Foundation.

Pretty good honor for a really good kid.

Jackson is a star. Once he gets in the open field, nobody is catching him. Only going to get better as the season progresses. Glad to see the offense lighting up the scoreboard again 04-cheers

Yeah....Lamar Jackson was even mentioned during last night Texas-Notre Dame game. Remember he didn't something in a Bowl game against Texas A&M that only Vince Young and Johnny Manziel did in regards to passing and rushing yards. He did it when he was a True Freshman.
