Sky is not falling position...
Maybe Wyoming is pretty good?

Hill is an absolute stud. 4 is a stud. QB has moxy, he just needs to calm down. There LB's and Safeties fly around. Bohl is a great coach.

Looking at their sched...I can see them winning 7 or 8. We'll see next week when they play Neb.

So if we got beat by a bowling team from the MWC at 7220 ft at 3:00 am I'm 3 OT's...maybe the sky isn't falling.

We shall see

Under no circumstances can you credit an opponent and make rational points (people here call them excuses) about conditions

I give Wyoming credit. I posted before that they are better than our fans thought. Circumstances sucked a little more for us since we are in a later time zone. However there is no reason we should have lost that game. We will need a short memory on this one.

RE: Sky is not falling position...
There were more phantom pass interference calls than I can ever recall seeing. NIU should have overcome that though.

I'll settle for beating either USF or SDSU (and WIU) but I don't think either will happen.

At this point, the win over WIU is far from guaranteed.

Yea they've beaten us too many times in the past, and I believe are ranked in FCS.

No the sky is not falling (yet)! But we are going in a very bad direction, and I hope the coaches can lead the way back to a good path!

I just want to see us fix the issues we had in game 1. If we play well and lose I'm fine with that. But all of us know that last night is not the NIU way. We have a veteran team -- 106 yards in penalties is unacceptable, we had three returning OL and you'd think that was a young, inexperienced line we fielded. We have some good RBs that need to be used more, we have an electric player named Argeros Turner who should be utilized...fix these things.

We sort of said the same things a few times last year, too, and we went with the same old same old. I do have faith, however, that STF will eventually do what needs to be done to fix things.

We have said these and similar things many times last year and now after the first game. Isn't that basically the base problem; it is there and obvious and fix it. If not, then STF will have to fix it.

Did you see SDSU destroy Cincy in the Hawaii Bowl last year? No way in hell is NIU winning that game.

I think whoever scheduled this game for 9:30 pm CDT should be credited with the win for Wyoming. No doubt that playing an away game that late and halfway to the clouds had a major effect. And yet the Huskies hung in there through 3 OTs.

RE: Sky is not falling position...
I felt like Wyoming was hyped for us like we get for Ohio State, they flew to the ball, shoved our bigger lineman around. That + the altitude = our downfall.

RE: Sky is not falling position...
Our defense couldn't make any plays. Had a chance to get three picks but they were dropped and negated by a penaltiy. Our play calling was horrible in the third quarter. We went deep five times without setting up the deep ball at all. Drew was doing a great job with the intermediate pass in the first half but all we did in the third quarter was throw quick passes that were poorly timed or deep without setting up the deep ball. The defense also allowed Wyoming to control the clock and score TDs. This one hurt but we have playmakers on both sides of the ball. We'll win more than we'll lose but next week against USF could get ugly...

RE: Sky is not falling position...
I will chalk this up to 3 mistakes.

1) Missed extra point kick
2) False start when it was 2nd and goal on the 2
3) Hare fumbling in the redzone

RE: Sky is not falling position...
1. Our offensive line getting owned by a smaller D-Line.
2. Our defense not making a play.
3. Poor play calling in the third quarter.

If any of the three happened for us, we would have won comfortably.
