It's good pub no doubt for Houston. But it's still Week One with games left to include Notre Dame and FSU. Lets talk after Week Four when I will give these projections some credence.

Very true...now if a G5 Conference makes the CFP and in the process keeps one or two P5 Champions out....would love to see the fall out.

I'm more interested in seeing how high Houston will move up in the polls on Tuesday.

Houston has a very easy schedule outside of Oklahoma and Louisville. The AAC isn't as good as it was last season. Beating Navy and Memphis this season won't move the needle. They need South Florida to have a great year (either beat or play FSU closely and no other losses) and to beat them in the AAC Championship. Otherwise they could justifiably be left out of the playoff.

Well you can definitely say that UConn didn't look great and neither did Temple. Which is too bad because I really liked Temple last year.

If Oklahoma wins the Big 12, Houston runs the table, and Pac 12 has a 2 loss champion- it's going to be real hard for Houston to be left out. And pretty close to impossible if Louisville were to win the ACC.

If Houston was in Big12, it would move to No. 5. Because it is in AAC, it is most likely to be ranked No. 9 (AP) and No. 11 or No. 12 (Coaches Poll). P5 supporters stick together, especially the coaches. They like to talk down G5.

RE: CBS new Projected CFP...Extremely Interesting....
the thing is- his premise is actually pretty much spot on....

Oklahoma who I think he had before- they now are in deep trouble. they need to win out, and frankly have Houston lose a game. None of the other Big 12 schools are all that likely...
Stanford- I think he's thinking their schedule is just too tough.

Where what he's talking about is tough- the Big Ten. kind of tough to see them out.

I think they will be in the Top 5 as #5.

looking at the prior top 25....

Alabama and Clemson will be ahead of Houston I feel no matter what....
I think FSU/Ole Miss winner will be ahead of Houston no matter what.....

after that they're fighting with Ohio St and Michigan to be in the top 5. Maybe Notre Dame as well if ND wins tonight convincingly.

2. Houston: You can second-guess this selection all you want, but perhaps no team outside of Alabama accomplished more than Houston on the opening Saturday. And, besides the Crimson Tide, who else has defeated top-10 teams in consecutive games?
