My guess he may still be hung hover.

SUPER DRUNK. Thank god I don't tweet. On the plus side, my insane post came with a BAC of around .18. I'm guessing MD is stone sober when he's makes outlandish posts.
This is my Hare issue. What's his quality win? northwestern where he threw 10 passes in relief. The 8-6 Matt Johnson-less BG game? If it's not MACC is that looked on so greatly? It's probably the Toledo win in 2014. The big losses- a 7-6 Arkansas, Marshall, a bad BC team, CMU twice.
Graham's played
In 2014 Hare could run, ok intermediate accuracy, bad long ball.
In 2015 Hare could NOT run(100 att, 250 yards, ok int. Acc., better long ball
2016 will be the same. He's probably never going to put it all together.
I'm not going to look at hares stats as the end all measure. When he ruins the timing of a screen or slant by making the WR spin himself around, he still gets the completion and yards. But it's the missed yards that concerns me. Yes I,like Graham better as a pure QB(he also runs better than Hare). And sometimes an offense just runs better due to a QBs style. It's possible the O might be better under Graham.
*Sober thread title* Graham wins this game by 10.

Better.01-lucy

MD is sober, which is worse.

Agree in that his mobility went down a bit and now may be non-existent. Major factor in that it made and average QB above average by getting big gains 1,2 maybe 3 times a game be design or broken play. Without the scrambling, vanilla.

After watching the game again....Hare was worse than I thought. Since people only care about the box score, they think he was good. Anyone with this dvr'd, take 5 minutes and Count the number of full 360s his receivers did to catch the ball. Blake's deep ball where he was open by ten yards, 360 and then tackled. Golladays 2nd rec td, 360, but Kenny was nimble enough to stay in stride. bouagnon twice in crucial situations, 360s.( the one time he didn't was that 4th and ten where he hit him perfectly in stride and Joel made it by a foot.). Golladay had 2 more complete spin arounds. Then there are the Hare misses. Huff in the flat with daylight...at
Ball at his feet. Or when Kenny saved hare with the one he picked off his shoes in OT. There's several more...watch for yourselves.

Hare should have thrown for 200 in the first half. There was almost zero safety help over the top on every play. The safeties blitzed 80% of the time(craziest thing I've seen defensively)

It's his first game in awhile...he's rusty, I get it. But it's mostly just what Hare is. He's really good at throwing to spot. A route where the WR sits down on it. But quick timing routes, what NIU runs a ton of, not so good.

But I still think we can win this weekend.

04-cheers I'm not saying Hare looked great these first 2 games, but he is not the problem. Unfortunately, there are much deeper rooted issues.

The team had zero energy. You didn't see any sense of pride or excitement from the team. Teammates weren't cheering from the sidelines. USF players were dancing and waving towels around.

Yep, something very, very bad is going on. Sorry thing is I don't think we have the $$$ to make it go away. Unless someone with deep pockets is willing to pay a few million to bring in the answer. Maybe Homer Simpson is sickened by his Alma Mater's recent decline and will pony up some of that Duff Beer money to help out?

I am convinced the team had a common goal to get Carey fired going into the season

It sure looks like it. Do any of the players have rich relatives to buyout the contract?

I would love to call you crazy, like I usually think. :) While, you may be exaggerating the point, I think there is clearly a major problem. I would not go so far as to say players are throwing the game, but I would say they are not buying into the program. D1 football is incredibly difficult and demanding. If you do not have everyone playing for the team and on the same page, bad things can happen. I think that is what we are seeing. They are not throwing the game, they are just not following their assignments and not working for a common goal. That is all it takes to look miserable.

Or quite possibly after going through 3 years of others recruits he has ran out of talent that can't overcome his lack of coaching ability

I get the talent part, but this team never even came to play from minute 1, it was painfully obvious. I feel like we could do one of those things like on the movie Eight Men Out when reporters circled players on a team photo that they thought were tanking it. You can only find a few players on this team giving any effort, I really sense something organized occurred among most of the players to tank this season. I know it sounds crazy, but I have never seen that type of behavior from players before. Bad sucky teams yes, this type of non-effort and apathy no.

It's tough because I definitely think the talent level has gone in the tank this year - The O-Line, secondary, I could go on and on, but these are players that he's chosen - The O line is his freaking specialty; and watching this game, it just looked like they were going through the motions. I don't agree w. MD that they necessarily threw the game in an organized way. But by going through the motions - the parts of the machine grind to a halt. That's what you saw tonight. I will still be there at Ball State and KSU this year, but this could easily be a 2-10 team if tonight is any indication.

They lost a tough one last week. Today they were simply out classed and over matched! The AAC is overall a big step up from the MAC! Teams on the field, donors, stadiums and fan attendance. It was not Carey's fault they lost. USF is much better and has a lot more talent than NIU.

You should expect more Mrs. Carey.

They shouldn't have a lot more talent than NIU. Northwestern, Minnesota, Iowa and Purdue should also have a lot more talent but not only didn't they blow us out but didn't beat us, at least once.

NIU loses to almost any FBS school tonight, literally almost any FBS school

A 1-AA team played USF better last week than we did. This is more about coaching than talent. NIU isn't recruiting any differently than we used to. The players aren't buying what Carey is selling.

I think there is a drop in talent this year, but no one can argue that it is not a second order concern right now. There are MUCH deeper underlying issues.
