Would have been more if we don't play at 11. Man it was brutally hot. We may sell out next week.

About 31k
26k was about what I'd have guessed from my seat.

There were very few SSU fans. Including their band there were maybe 500. 1000 if I'm being generous.
Our student turnout was decent but could have been higher. With the hurricane coming classes were cancelled Friday so quite a bit headed out of town for a 4 day weekend.

Why was the Cajun's attendance low? Weather? Recent flooding? Figured Boise at home would be a bigger draw.

My guess would be there is still a lot of carpet and dry wall being pulled out and replaced.
Cajun attendance is always good.

GS should be really happy with their attendance, to almost sellout against Savanna State is impressive.

11 am kickoff in 93 degree weather. It's unbearable to sit there for hours baking. We should never play a home game in September earlier than 6:30 pm.

Less than you think. Most courses have some sort of scramble that starts around 4:30 when the heat begins to die down.
Back on point, we were given the option of 11 or 2:30. 11 was definitely the right decision, but we shouldn't be forced to play early games for what we get out of the Sun Belt tv payout.

Ask your fans who made the trip to Lafayette a few years back for a 2:30 kickoff what that was like. It's brutal.

I've never had a problem with heat until I had to bring my little one.
In that case, it's nearly impossible.

Didn't feel like Savannah State brought that many fans. Citadel last year has a healthy section. SSU just had their band and that's it.

With the game on ESPN3 I would have stayed home, too, to not be out in that weather. A game in humid south Louisiana in the middle of the day out in the sun would have been too much for me. The only good thing about being behind 35-0 before the half was that it gave some fans a good excuse to go home and get into the A/C sooner. There's a reason why games in the South usually happen at night!
