Army vs Temple
Temple is giving Army problems with their TE similar to what we did in the last game at Army before Cella got hurt. Unfortunately since that time we have seen very little use of the TE.

What's a TE? Didn't I see one on a milk carton recently?

Army looks much improved. and not making the usual "Army beating Army mistakes". Don't forget Temple lost to UH by only 11 at UH in last year's AAC championship game.

Army up on Temple 21-13 in fourth quarter in Philly. Baylor up 48-0 on Northwestern State at halftime.

28-13 now....not a good sign for next week. Army will be sky high for us.

Army should and will be favored by 7+ points. And as long as they have a coach with a pulse, I'll bet money they come out throwing against us.

I was thinking the same thing. Rollout passes and some trick plays.

Army wins. Baylor appears to have taken its foot off the gas against NW St...have only scored 7 points in second half so far.

Actually, i wouldn't be surprised to see some early play action, as you KNOW Bailiff will be loaded up against the run.

Army will be much improved this year. Monken is one of the really bright young coaches. Would have loved to have hired him when he was cheap. If he gets Army turned around, he won't be cheap any more.

So it'll be an upset on the road against a good opponent when we win.

I like this, raptor.. But be careful. Right now, on this board the long knives are out.
'Probably ought to wait till middle of next week to push this idea. We usually regain a bit of perspective by then.

Good to find a couple of upbeat people.

I will be pleasantly surprised if we beat Army. I have been predicting this as a loss since spring, and I've seen nothing to change my mind.

I predict we win.
The matchup scheme-wise is one we can handle, and our talent is on par or better.
Army doesn't compare to WK.
But we can't beat ourselves...

RE: Army vs Temple
Rice 34, Army 27. Rice's WR's will not drop as many passes. Army doesn't have WKU's o-line or ability to hit so many deep passes. I am not sure a victory is in the best long-term interests of Rice football, but I do think Rice will win. And Rice has done a pretty good job against run-heavy teams lately. Playing Army will mask Rice's deficiencies, just like Baylor and WKU and So. Miss and others will expose them.
